It has been over two months since my surgery, but the silicone in my nasal bridge hasn’t adhered to the bone and is floating, so my glabella is too high, there is a straight-line border, and my nasal bridge is crooked. I first received an aftercare correction and wore a splint for 5 days (an aftercare correction where, after light anesthesia, the doctor pushed and pressed it by hand), but my glabella still didn’t come down, so I had another consultation and decided to receive revision surgery as aftercare. Because I didn’t have time, another 2 months passed, and I received a closed revision surgery when it had been over 4 months since my nose surgery.
After the surgery, when the doctor came to the recovery room, I asked how many millimeters of silicone had been inserted. He said he had removed the original silicone, shaved it down, and used it, and that I could think of it as about 3 mm. Because I had been very stressed all this time since my glabella and nasal bridge hadn’t come down, and because I told him before surgery that I did not want it high, I naturally thought he would put in silicone lower than the current one, but to be honest, I was a bit taken aback when he said it wasn’t new silicone and that he had removed, shaved down, and used the existing one..
Is it okay to remove the existing silicone, shave it down again, and reuse it? Also, they say revision nose surgery is possible after 6 months, but for something like the nasal bridge in my case, it should be okay to have it corrected before then, right? I hope there are no problems, but I’m worried there might be a possibility of infection or inflammation... sigh...
