Order: took photos of my eyes, the consultant very briefly asked only what I wanted, then I had the consultation with the director, and wrapped up briefly with the consultant.
The diagnosis for my eyes was that non-incisional surgery is possible, but my eyes would be better suited for an incisional method. I’ve been going to a lot of consultations because of sagging eyelids, and the director said it’s true that I do have eyelid sagging, and my eyes aren’t completely without fat either, so it would be good to hold the line by doing a little skin excision as well.
I asked if skin excision isn’t bad, and they said that with all incisional procedures, about 1 mm of skin excision is always included, so that was the first time I learned that. I thought the basic method was just done without excision. They said it’s not excision like an upper blepharoplasty, and even then it’s only about 1–2 mm, so I shouldn’t worry about that.
They said non-incisional is possible too, but because I have a lot of skin laxity, there’s a high chance it could come undone ㅠ But it has the advantage of looking natural, and since it’s my first surgery and I’m scared, they said I could do non-incisional now with the idea of doing an incisional procedure one more time later, so my mind did lean a little toward non-incisional.
This is what the consultant said, but they said that doesn’t mean it would come undone within 1–2 years or anything like that. Hmm... I’m not sure about that though, since it wasn’t something the director said...
They said I don’t lack eye-opening strength, so I don’t need ptosis correction, and that for protruding eyes like mine, if ptosis correction is done incorrectly, the eyelid can lift up, so I shouldn’t do it. This was the first time I learned that ptosis correction makes the eye skin go up;; The director lifted it with their hand and showed me, so I understood right away what it meant. ㄷㄷ
They explained everything in a lot of detail, answered everything I was curious about, and professionally explained what kind of eyes I have and why certain methods would be more advantageous, so I liked the consultation. I usually don’t have many questions, but because of that I ended up asking even more. But maybe they were busy, because they left after wrapping things up a bit hurriedly. That part was a little disappointing, but still, the consultation was really good. They explained things in the most detail.
