Review 6 months after revision rhinoplasty
My natural nose wasn’t bad, but over ten years ago, I had surgery without much information and without much fear. At first, I lived without major complaints, but as time passed, my nasal tip drooped, so I decided I needed revision surgery. This time, I thought I should really do both online and in-person research, so I read a lot of reviews in this community and got recommendations from people around me, and I looked into it quite a bit in my own way.
<<Revision surgery using silicone + donated costal cartilage + autologous dermis + ear cartilage>> Because the skin on my nasal tip was thin, they harvested autologous dermis from my buttock and used it. I didn’t even know my septal cartilage had been used... but after taking a CT scan and having the director check inside my nose during the consultation, they said it had already been used... so donated costal cartilage was used. I thought I had researched a lot in my own way, but the more I looked into it, the more different things people said here and there, so there were parts that confused me. But during the consultation, they explained the points that applied to me -> the characteristics of my nose, the limits of improvement, etc., in a very easy-to-understand and clear way, which I liked.
During my first surgery, having cotton packed inside my nose was so, so awful, so when deciding on revision surgery, I was really worried because I heard donated costal cartilage meant having cotton packing for 1 week. But surprisingly,, it was better than I expected. Really. During my first surgery, it was the worst because even when I stayed still, it felt like something kept stabbing my nose, but during the revision, as soon as the surgery ended, I thought, if it’s this level, I can endure a week, and thankfully it passed without any problems.
Maybe because my skin is thin, I did bruise more than I expected, but maybe because of my constitution, I didn’t have much swelling and recovered quickly. After deciding on surgery, I just trusted them with everything and waited. During the consultation and surgery / and afterward during treatment and follow-up visits too, the director, consultants, and nurses were all kind and checked everything carefully, so I really liked that part too.
Among the places where I had consultations, it was the most expensive, since I went in thinking there would be no more revision surgeries,, but it was worth investing that much, and I’m very satisfied with the result.
