It has now been over 1 month since I had surgery, and I’m going to start writing reviews one by one.
I’m male, and I started looking into surgery because of my sleepy-looking eyes.
1. Apgujeong ㅇㅇㅇ Plastic Surgery Clinic I don’t think it’s that famous of a clinic, but when I got there, there were actually quite a few people. Overall it was just fairly average, but the clinic facilities felt a little outdated..? They suggested making about a 2-3 mm incision and doing ptosis correction. The cost was 2.2 million won including VAT.
However, before I went in for my consultation, there was someone who had gone in for surgery, and it felt like they had put that person under anesthesia and then came out to consult with me..? So I passed. The line they designed was okay though.
2. Gangnam Station ㄸㅋ Plastic Surgery Clinic (ㄱㅎㅅ) The consultation goes in the order of consultant - director - consultant, and there is also a brief time to try designing the line with the consultant. The director showed me line heights in order as No. 1 - No. 2 - No. 3, and explained that (since I’m a man) No. 3 could look a little too intense, and unless I had a very strong aversion to double eyelids, No. 2 would be fine. They said that if I chose No. 2, non-incisional surgery would be possible.
The cost was 2.2 million won including VAT, but with the review event, it was discounted down to 1.5 million won. I liked the line they designed. Since I’m male, it seemed like the double eyelid size or shape didn’t differ that dramatically from clinic to clinic.
3. Sinsa Station ㄱㅎㅅ Plastic Surgery Clinic There is a consultation fee of 5,000 won. They recommended incisional ptosis correction, and said that a lot of fat would also need to be removed in the process. They were also the first clinic among the ones I visited to recommend epicanthoplasty. But the line they designed somehow didn’t really appeal to me.. Though their before-and-after photos of male patients were actually okay, so I thought about it a lot. Still, the idea of removing a lot of fat bothered me, so I decided not to have surgery here. I think the cost was around 2.5 million won, but I don’t remember exactly.
4. Apgujeong Station ㄱㅎㅅ Plastic Surgery Clinic There was quite a lot of casual conversation during the consultation, and there was no one after me, so I think I consulted with the doctor alone for nearly 50 minutes. They mentioned incisional ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty, but recommended a double eyelid line as high as what would usually be suggested for many women, even though I’m male. I think the director felt that kind of eye would suit my eyes and mouth! But that kind of line felt too unfamiliar to me... and because of that, I didn’t have surgery here. Also, I don’t remember the exact cost, but I remember it being close to 4 million won.
