6-Month Review of Double Eyelid Reversal Surgery (Scar Removal)

<1 Open eyes before revision surgery 2 Open eyes now 3 Closed eyes before revision surgery 4 Closed eyes now><Left eye after revision surgery><Right eye after revision surgery>After incisional double eyelid surgery, I was someone who was seriously stressed because of the scars.

I had the surgery because I wanted to make my existing double eyelids a bit clearer, so... the stress felt even worse.

All I wanted was to go back to how I was before surgery, so I decided I had to get revision surgery to undo the double eyelids somehow.

There are not that many doctors who perform double eyelid reversal surgery, and it is not a widely common procedure either.

I searched and went to every hospital I could find that said they performed double eyelid reversal surgery, and got consultations at all of them.

About half of them said if I had surgery, I might not be able to close my eyes, it would end up the same as my current line, and they did not recommend surgery.

The other half recommended making a second line, or said correction was possible,

but for me, making a second line while leaving the existing surgical scar as it was and only releasing the adhesion was something I just could not bring myself to do, because I was scared scar marks would remain above the double eyelid line.

After consulting at 8 hospitals, I decided on Symphony Plastic Surgery because during the consultation, they were the most empathetic and gave me the clearest answers.

The bumpy, uneven line can be made straight. The areas with severe scarring can be corrected.

The director said exactly that, without unnecessary words, that my concerns could be resolved, so I felt I could trust him.

I received revision surgery from Director Hyun Kyung Bae, who looked at my face very carefully and thoroughly, showed empathy, accurately pointed out the cause of my previous surgical result, and thoughtfully explained the revision method and expected results in detail.

It has now been 6 months since my revision surgery, and when I asked, they said the scar is still healing. Some places elsewhere told me not to have surgery because my eyes would not close, but after surgery, mine closed within a few weeks, and now I have no problem closing my eyes at all!

There is still some scarring, but it has really improved so much compared to before! So I am truly staying hopeful and waiting for the remaining scars to finish healing.

The more I thought about how my eyes used to be fine, even with normal double eyelids, the more miserable I felt.

But month by month, as I watch the wounds heal, I feel more and more relievedㅠㅠ

I especially think aftercare is just as important as the surgery, and Symphony’s aftercare is definitely good, so I felt reassured.

They clearly diagnosed my current condition after surgery, and seemed committed to completing the result reliably, so the attitude of the hospital itself was really touching.

At first, after deciding on revision surgery and going around for consultations, I posted questions in a community about which place was good, read comments, and diligently checked other reviews too. I’m sharing this as a way of repaying all the kind people who posted their reviews.

Since it is a hospital with a highly skilled director and very thorough aftercare, I felt that sharing this would bring me some good karma too, so I put a lot of care into writing this review.

I hope that in a few months, it will be even better than now, and that the scars will barely show even when I close my eyes!! I’m going to spend each day holding onto that hope.

I’m scheduled to visit again at the 9-month mark, so I hope it heals well over the next 3 months. If the remaining scars become cleaner by then, I’ll post another photo review!
