I had double eyelid surgery a total of 2 times 6 years ago. 1. At the time, I was told I had ptosis, so I had a consultation for ptosis correction + incisional double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty. I felt okay about it, so I scheduled a date and had the surgery. One side turned out okay, but the other side (left eye) became a sausage eyelid + had eyelid retraction, and I developed dry eye syndrome. 2. I requested aftercare service and had revision surgery on only one side (left eye) half a year later. At the time of the revision, the canthoplasty was so unnoticeable that I wondered, did they really do the canthoplasty? So I requested secondary canthoplasty, but there was no particular difference. If they had told me in advance that there would be no difference, I would not have done canthoplasty from the beginning. + Even now, the sausage eyelid + retraction are still there.
My aunt also went with me to get incisional double eyelid surgery, and both of her eyes became sausage eyelids, and she even developed severe dry eye syndrome. She went back for aftercare service too, but her condition stayed the same. It is a hospital I will never go to again.
