I’ll write this in the order I had the consultations! My current eyes are not small, with no double eyelids, and the epicanthal folds are severe like hooks, but the distance between my eyes is not wide. The eyes I want are natural in-out style, but with open inner corners that don’t look blocked. Since this is my first surgery, I was thinking of buried sutures + inner corner canthoplasty, and I picked clinics known for natural results or for inner corner canthoplasty.
1. Sinsa ㄴㅅㅎ (Dr. ㄱㄷㅎ) Coordinator -> doctor -> coordinator Slight inner corner canthoplasty + natural adhesion 87 / consultation fee 0 The doctor was a bit blunt and had a very matter-of-fact style, clearly saying what could and could not be done. He carefully designed the line, and said that because my eyes are naturally close together, he would only open the inner corners a little. I asked whether the hook-like epicanthal folds would disappear, and he said I’d have to live with them lol He lifted the skin at the inner corners of my eyes and said, “This skin being lifted is what inner corner canthoplasty does, but the inner corners of your eyes themselves are set forward. That will still show, and if we open too much, you’ll look more fierce.” He also said a high line would not suit me and recommended something natural. I also asked about outer corner canthoplasty and lower outer corner canthoplasty, and he said they would not have much effect on my eyes. But when I heard the price, it was so cheap that I instantly lost trust.. It was the same-day booking price, but I thought the doctor was blunt, so I left without making even a tentative reservation. But after going around to other places, it turns out the doctor was actually quite kind... which is the twist...
2. Apgujeong ㅋㄹ Buried sutures 150 / consultation fee 0 I only filled out the chart and then seem to have gone straight in to see the doctor without even a coordinator consultation! The doctor was really nice.. He called me “ㅇㅇ-ssi~” lol But he strongly opposed all types of canthoplasty, so I was completely flustered lol He said my eyes are on the close side, and if I had canthoplasty I’d end up with Shin Dong-yup eyes, so absolutely do not do it! I was really stressed out by my epicanthal folds, but to get rid of them I’d have to cut all the way to the inner corners of the eyes, so he told me to just live with them He said even buried sutures alone would look very pretty~ When I asked about only upper canthoplasty... he said that wouldn’t work either! He told me that even if I went to another clinic, I really should not do canthoplasty, but it sounded so much like a father giving advice that I’m torn about whether I should listen... I’m really conflicted lol After the consultation, I started wondering if my eyes are a difficult case... I’m feeling very unsettled.
3. Sinsa ㅇㅇㄱㄹ Buried sutures + ptosis correction + fat removal + upper canthoplasty 151.8 / consultation fee 0 The doctor was seriously kind beyond words He adjusted the line many times, and considering that I have pseudoptosis and keep lifting my eyebrows, he explained that the line would come out like this~ Most of all, the line he designed was so pretty...!!! I have good eyelid-opening strength, but he still recommended eyelid correction, and when I asked why, he explained the principle in detail. He said my eyes are a bit droopy, so if we want to lift them, it would be good to engage the muscles that support them. (Honestly, I didn’t fully understand.) I also had my nose done, and he said he went to the same university as the doctor who did my nose lol We also made small talk and laughed lol I originally planned to book here, but the coordinator seemed to brush over aftercare a bit hastily? They said they would call while checking the progress when removing the stitches, and I was like, what? Even the progress photos felt like they were being flipped through quickly?? so I was like, huh? and put it on hold. In the meantime, the photos they skimmed through quickly were pretty.. This is still one I’m considering, but they do so many different things that I keep wondering if it’s really right~
4. Apgujeong ㅁㅊㅍ Ptosis correction 150 (+inner corner canthoplasty 50) / consultation fee 5000 This one was actually scheduled in a hurry, so the whole consultation was very rushed. I went before work too, so I was already frazzled... The doctor didn’t make me wait long, but he came in saying he was sorry for making me wait (maybe 5 minutes?).. I wondered if many people had complained about him before.. Just like in the YouTube videos we all watch! He was extremely meticulous in mapping out the line, and showed me how gradually raising the line would look, then recommended the best option. But somehow it felt less like a recommendation and more like, if ptosis correction is needed, we can do it, and if inner corner canthoplasty is needed, we can do it~ like he was trying to match the patient’s needs, and that actually made me more confused. Other reviews say he clearly says what can and cannot be done, so I wondered if my eyes were just ambiguous.. Originally, only the ptosis correction had been communicated to the coordinator, but when I asked, “Was inner corner canthoplasty not recommended?” he said that if we did inner corner canthoplasty too, it would be 200. I liked that he seemed like he would be meticulous when deciding the line right before surgery, but the surgery quote felt too vague I wonder how it would have been if I had consulted when they weren’t busy. Ah! The amount above is the price under the condition that there are no cancellations.
5. Sinsa ㅅㅍㄹㅅ Multi canthoplasty (inner + upper), buried sutures 250 / consultation fee 10000 The coordinator here was stunning and very soft-spoken.. I ended up placing a deposit here after seeing the coordinator rather than the doctor;;; They’re famous for a repositioning canthoplasty that removes only the epicanthal folds cleanly. But did I even get about 5 minutes with the chief doctor?;; It was incredibly short, and he recommended forehead lift, which surprised me so much (apparently this clinic is also famous for forehead lifts) He said that since I lift my eyes using my forehead already, if I want to lift the drooping eyes, I need a forehead lift. I told him I was still young and, since this is my first surgery, I was thinking of buried sutures? Then he said that if I did double eyelids, my eyebrows would drop, and then I wouldn’t get the best result for my face. If I wanted the best result, it would be a forehead lift. Then the consultation ended in a flash... The price was also way too expensive, and since half the consultation was about forehead lifts, I naturally wasn’t going to do it, but I had high expectations for this clinic... so I decided to look up some consultation reviews and left a deposit (I paid because they said I could rebook for 300+ and get a refund) Still... as expected, there are quite a few reoperations for inner corner canthoplasty scars, so I decided not to do it and to get my deposit canceled.
6. Sinnonhyeon ㅇㅇㅂ Inner corner canthoplasty + buried sutures 165 / consultation fee 10000 This consultation ended too quickly too, so I was flustered... I even had to ask them to adjust the line a bit more.. What was unusual was that all the other places used sedation, but this one only used local anesthesia. They said even middle school students can endure it because they use very thin needles! The twist is that I liked the after-photos more than the consultation itself. The swelling really was almost nonexistent.. maybe local anesthesia means less swelling..? During the consultation, I was surprised because they seemed to open the inner corners too much, but the after photos showed a natural-looking opening. The previous clinics had some reviews about inner corner canthoplasty scars, but here there was no visible trace and the photos looked real, so I trusted it. The coordinator was also confident, emphasizing the swelling and the doctor’s experience.
I went to a lot of places. The ones I’m leaning toward in my mind are numbers 3 and 6, but I’m not confident, so I’m planning to visit three more clinics I already reserved. If anyone has had surgery at clinics 3 or 6, or if you know any other good places, please recommend them!!
