I had surgery at xx Plastic Surgery Clinic in Sinsa:
under-eye fat repositioning + nano fat grafting for dark circles + anterior cheek fat grafting.
Afterward, I developed so many side effects.
★ Side effect symptoms ★
★ Sensation disappeared on half of my face; it seems like nerve damage. It feels tingling and numb, from my cheekbone, nose, under-eye area, all the way to my lips. ★ Sanpaku eyes. The under-eye area is fixed and will not move up, so my eyes are uneven, and when I smile, one eye does not close completely. ★ Dark circles. They got worse. People around me say as soon as they see me, “Why are your dark circles so severe?” ★ The aegyo-sal boundary disappeared / symptoms of entropion are also visible.
* They discarded the before/after surgery photos too, so they will not let me check them. Is this really a professional hospital?
During consultation, they say things like, “We are professional. There is a line of people who want surgery here even without seeing the director.” But do not believe the counseling manager 100%...
That is why I think people need to be careful about being swayed.
After these side effects developed, I requested a follow-up with the director. But they would not schedule a director follow-up.
(The story is long, so I will only write the facts.) They only told me to wait, only said we had to watch it over time, coaxed me and avoided me, and did not schedule a follow-up with the director.
I am writing this hoping there will never again be another victim like me.
If you are interested in under-eye fat repositioning or are about to have surgery, I hope you read this at least once and make a choice you will not regret.
First of all, I know the hospital where I had surgery has a lot of promotional posts on communities, apps, and cafes.
I cannot know whether they are real reviews, promotions, brokers, or company posts,
but what would feel most unfair is deciding on surgery after seeing unsourced posts and then developing side effects.
You cannot go back. Once something is ruined, the fact is that it can never be restored no matter what cost you pay.
★ As someone with surgical experience, I really regretted choosing this hospital because I had not seen posts like this.
Do not regret it like I do. Even if you regret it, regretting after knowing is different from regretting without knowing. I hope there will never again be another victim like me.
After 8-9 months, I was finally able to see the director for a follow-up.
But the answers I heard at the follow-up were personally so absurd,
and I could not understand them, so I requested another follow-up together with my guardian.
★ They confidently gave false, untrue guidance, saying that having a follow-up with a guardian would be a violation of medical law... I was so dumbfounded that I asked several times.
Both the coordinator team and the counseling manager gave the same false guidance. (I have phone and KakaoTalk evidence.)
When I said let’s finish this with a full refund and an apology from the staff who gave false guidance,
they said they would process a half refund? And when I asked for an apology from the staff who gave false guidance, they said the staff were young so the guidance was insufficient. They said if that happened, it would create a problem in personnel management. (Meaning they would quit?)
So I ended things by telling them not to contact me again in the future regarding future treatment, A/S, revision surgery, refunds, and so on.
And then someone called the general manager? whom I had never seen at the hospital contacted me using an alias. It was my first time seeing a plastic surgery clinic use an alias.
In any case, the surgical result is one thing, but if I had known the aftercare would be like this, I would never have had the surgery.
And they told me that follow-ups with the director are originally not available afterward..... without any explanation before surgery... I hope everyone knows exactly before deciding on surgery.
★★★ When you receive consultation, ask this and that and at least record it...
As someone who is suffering from side effects, I will say just one thing.
“Side effect review” posts end up being temporarily restricted, so in reality they are hard for consumers to see, making it difficult to make the right choice.
On all kinds of apps and communities, most posts are only about successful cases.
※ Recommendation posts, review posts, and even question posts may also be written by hospitals, and broker recommendations exist too.
★ Think about it. There is no patient who had successful surgery and then keeps managing review posts and leaving comments.
But many people decide on surgery after seeing posts whose source they cannot verify... Everyone, please be careful and look into things thoroughly.
Examples)
- An acquaintance had it done and it turned out well. An acquaintance did it.
- They are a master of revision surgery; they are really good at revision surgery.
- Is this place good at surgery? > Yes, I heard they are good there. I had it done, I did too, etc.
- Does anyone know information~ etc. > I heard this place is good.
- This place is good, so I am satisfied with the consultation; I had a consultation here and it was good, etc.
There are many posts like this that are hard to distinguish, so just use them as reference...
People who get plastic surgery should always look into everything, think it over a hundred times, and be careful.
It may help to look at the side-effect tabs on apps and the “real reviews” in community side-effect sections. (I know there are many promotional posts meant to bring people in for consultations, including community review posts, recommendation posts, and question posts... keep that in mind.)
I hope you recognize the risks of surgery to some extent and decide carefully. I am writing this for information-sharing purposes, hoping you do not make the same mistake I did.
Once something is already ruined, it absolutely cannot be undone. The hospital will not take responsibility either; that is a fact.
