(I deleted the photos. A friend contacted me asking if this was me..ㅠ) Hi everyone!!!! I got so much help from this community about my nose and facial contouring, and I thought maybe I could help a bit too, so even though this is a really basic and common? care method, as someone who has kept it up for 8 months, I think it was a pretty good method, so I wanted to share!!
I’ve had really severe dark circles since I was young.. So after getting collagen injections in my cheeks at the place I was going to last year, I noticed a lot of changes, so I once went back to the same place to get collagen injected into the areas where my dark circles were severe too. But they said my dark circles were more of a problem with pigmentation and visible blood vessels rather than under-eye hollowness, and that collagen boosters or under-eye fillers would not only be unhelpful, but they also couldn’t guarantee the effect. Actually, there is a way to cover them with concealer, but this is really hard..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ It takes longer than expected too, and if you do it wrong, it can look worse than doing nothing.. I tried so many times after watching videos, but I can count on one hand the number of times I succeeded. Looking at the comments, a lot of people besides me found it really difficult too.
So I’ll share what I’ve done so far? including the things that were good, the things you shouldn’t do, the process, and tips!
❤️Basic habits for dark circle care❤️ 1. Wash your face thoroughly with cleansing oil and foam cleanser while gently massaging under the eyes little by little (just pressing firmly) -> You have to thoroughly remove makeup with the cleansing products you usually use! Finish cleansing within 2-3 minutes, and it’s good to press firmly around the eye area!
2. Omega-3 + magnesium + vitamin B -> These are things that help a lot with blood circulation, and they say they help loosen up pooled blood under the eyes that makes them look dark, so I also try to get a lot of them through food!
3. Basic skincare after cleansing + massage!!!! (just pressing firmly)⭐ -> After washing my face, I definitely!!! massage for about 3 minutes! Since I wash my face twice a day, that means I massaged about 6 minutes a day.
4. Exercise for about 20-30 minutes a day..! -> I’ll confess honestly about this one..ㅋㅋ I couldn’t do it every day, but I still did it at least about 3 times a week, and now I’m looking into Pilates
5. Drink water often and avoid stimulating foods! -> I love Buldak and ramen so much, seriously..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅎ It was hard to hold back, but after about a month it got better..ㅎㅎ Try controlling it just a little with the mindset that you’re dieting ^^*
Up to here are the generally well-known? dark circle care methods, but honestly you probably didn’t feel any improvement from just this.. So I’ll also tell you the extra things I did!
❤️Small tips❤️ 1. Domina Cream (pharmacy whitening cream) -> If your dark circles are pigmentation-type, don’t buy other whitening creams or eye creams, just buy this, and definitely buy it from a pharmacy! They sell something called Dominas Cream online, but the functional difference is big, so be careful not to confuse them!
2. Eye cream ❌ -> Instead of buying eye cream, honestly just stock up on a few more Domina Creams.. Before managing it this way, I used as many as 7 tubs, but I feel like I wasted about 200,000 won ㅠㅠ
3. Regenerating cream This isn’t essential, but if your under-eyes are dry or you have rhinitis like me, it’s good to apply it! A thick texture like Vaseline is more effective for under-eye care and absorbs better too, so if possible, look for a thick regenerating cream and apply a little at a time!
4. Phone before bed ❌ -> This was the hardest to fix..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ They say that if you look at your phone with your eyes lowered, it can cause under-eye wrinkles, and during that process, the under-eye area can also become darker. You might feel like you have to live too perfectly, but let’s try just a little!!
5. Nonwoven fabric + Centella asiatica undiluted extract + ampoule⭐ -> This is the most important part. Buy nonwoven fabric from the pharmacy, cut it to the size of your eyes, mix Centella asiatica undiluted extract with the ampoule I was using at a 1:3 ratio, soak it, and stick it under the eyes! I did this as the final step after basic skincare, but after doing it for a few weeks, it got annoying and troublesome, so I stopped ㅠ So while looking for something similar, I found a separate patch specifically for dark circles, not a regular eye patch, and the ingredients and everything were the most similar, so since last year until now I’ve been using that instead!!
You see the ones with stars? I think those were the ones that really worked a lot The things I eat and the basic habits probably helped too, but when I massaged, the pooled blood gradually spread around and became lighter. As for step 4, cutting the nonwoven fabric, mixing it, and doing that every time was a bit much, so I skipped it and used dark-circle-specific patches instead, and there wasn’t a big difference in ingredients or function! As you can probably tell from the photos, there may be almost no change in just one or two months. It can become a battle of patience with yourself, but if you just hold out a little and keep doing it consistently, it’ll get better like mine!!! Seriously, because of my dark circles, not only did I search a ton, I also spent so much money, got terrible pimple scars and even tried scar removal, and there’s nothing I haven’t done, so really, just trust it and keep at it!!!! Even the counseling manager at the dermatology clinic I went to was surprised later and said it hardly shows now, and said it was amazing ㅎㅎ I’m proud of myself too..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I still need to keep managing mine too, but everyone’s efforts and struggles to take care of themselves look so cool, and I shared this because I hope we can all become prettier and do well together! ㅎㅎ Still, you need to invest at least more than 3 months, but when searching doesn’t give you an answer, I hope my post helps everyone! For pigmentation or visible blood vessels like mine, they say under-eye fat repositioning doesn’t work eitherㅠ Thank you for reading this long post! Let’s get prettier, everyone, fighting❤️
========================================================================= ❤️Summary❤️ Basic habits are honestly too hard to fix right away.. I’m not even keeping up that well with exercise, food, or my phone right now either ㅠ
1. Massage! -> I’m doing Min Dong-seong’s 3-minute one on YouTube!
2. Nonwoven fabric pack + Centella asiatica undiluted extract + ampoule -> The undiluted extract is sold out, and cutting the nonwoven fabric, mixing, and sticking it on every time is troublesome, so it’s been quite a while since I started using a dark-circle-specific patch whose ingredients are almost the same as the ampoule and undiluted extract! Search for “dark circle band” and it should come up, so keep that in mind
I think it’d be good to start with those two right away and then fix your habits one by one!
+ I looked it up, and it seems Centella asiatica undiluted extract went viral on a show before and sold out everywhere, and now there don’t seem to be any places selling it except overseas ㅠ As for the dark circle patches, now that I look, they don’t show up even when I search.. I should’ve searched in advance and told you, sorry ㅠㅠ Try searching again for “dark circle band”! Then it should come up, and you don’t necessarily have to use the undiluted extract because the ingredients are pretty similar, and it’s actually more convenient and takes less time, so keep that in mind! I’m glad it helped❤️ I’m going to put on the band and go to sleep first :D
