I’m a girl from the Busan area, and I had my first surgery in Busan with a closed approach once. After that, I had surgery twice at the same place with an open approach. Back then, they used ear cartilage for all of them.
My nose was naturally very small and short, so it wasn’t a nose where I could be greedy.
When I had my 3rd surgery in Busan, my nostrils were already showing a lot, and I felt like there was no answer for my nose in Busan, so I ended up getting surgery in Seoul..
First, when I had my 3rd rhinoplasty, my nose was slightly upturned too.
So I did my own legwork and went to a hospital that was said to be famous.. It was expensive, but I thought they must be good because it was expensive, so I had my 4th revision surgery with autologous rib cartilage. I really wasn’t asking for much. I said the only thing that bothered me the most was my nostrils showing.. So I repeatedly asked them that I just wanted that improved.
I had the surgery like that, but the condition of my nose was really awful. There was inflammation too, and I didn’t like the shape itself either. The scar tissue was so severe, and I spent truly miserable days. Anyway, my nose gradually became so swollen, so I went back to the hospital in Seoul where I had the 4th revision surgery, and they said it was inflammation, so they removed the silicone that same day. For 6 months, I lived with no silicone, with my nose upturned like that.. I lived in so much pain, really? (First of all, here the hospital did take a lot of care of me.. Of course, that was something they should have done.)
So when I had the revision again after 6 months, I really, really begged them. I desperately asked them to make it so my nostrils didn’t show and the upturned look was gone. I said the silicone could be low, so please just pay attention to the nostrils, you know? The hospital said they would also do nostril lowering, so I had high hopes and got my 5th revision surgery.
But,, well,, in the end, the upturned look still didn’t improve, and the nostrils showing was still hopeless... And my nose was already crooked originally, but the nostril asymmetry was so severe.. So when I went for follow-ups at one month, two months, and three months, they said because there wasn’t enough skin laxity on my nose, it would normally take some time... Anyway, so we decided to watch it a bit longer, and since I’ve had quite a few nose surgeries, I know by now, right? That the shape isn’t going to change much more.. Anyway, it’s currently been 7 months.. The upturned nose / nostrils showing have not improved.
When I last went to the hospital, they did say they would take responsibility until the end, but maybe they just don’t have the skill? Maybe they just can’t operate well on short, upturned noses... right?
So I’m wondering whether I should just have a 6th surgery again at another hospital, or wait a bit more and proceed with the 6th surgery at the current hospital..
But I really don’t want to open my nose again... I’m just so upset and exhausted because it feels so unfair.. I paid so much money for it.. Is this really.. the best it could be,, please take a look
