Posting my consultation review. Shinsa L and Chai were consultations I went to without thinking about double eyelid surgery. The ones below that are places I visited while considering double eyelid surgery. The years are the years of medical license/specialist license acquisition that I organized after checking Babitalk. Please share information if you have the same concerns.
Shinsa L - Lee Young-geun (2014/2019) -The consultant was kind, and really boasted about the director's skills (there will absolutely be no recurrence, he is very good, she herself is the witness, etc.). They said same-day surgery is possible, and if I had surgery the same day, they would give a 150,000 won discount. The director's consultation felt a bit insincere. He just explained the surgery, asked if I had any questions, and it ended (the consultant was standing behind him together). Recommended micro fat grafting. Repositioning 1.65 million, posterior/lower canthoplasty 880,000, micro fat grafting 1.1 million
Chai - Choi Seung-ho (2005/2013) -The wait was very long (waited about 1 hour). The consultant was kind, and the director's consultation was also fine. When I said I wanted under-eye fat repositioning + canthoplasty, he asked why and recommended double eyelid surgery rather than canthoplasty. He created the line a few times, listened to what parts I was worried about, and suggested methods so I could decide in several directions. He told me to think about it carefully. The consultant also did not pressure me at all about a deposit, asked until when I planned to receive consultations, told me to take a photo of the estimate, and sent me off first saying to think about it and contact them. Repositioning + posterior/lower canthoplasty possible up to 1.8 million if decided within February, add 600,000 for double eyelid surgery, add 400,000 if also doing ptosis correction (double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction 1 million) (all excluding VAT)
Ilmiri - Do Eon-rok (2004/2009) -Maybe because I arrived early, I had the consultation with almost no waiting. The staff and consultant were all kind. When I said I was thinking about double eyelid surgery, he made the line a few times and asked if I liked it. When I said I was not sure, he told me not to do double eyelid surgery. He said it has to feel exactly right the first time the line is made for it to be successful, and to think about double eyelid surgery again later when I really want it. He said with plastic surgery, even if there is something slightly unsatisfactory, you must not lose even one thing, so excessive things are not okay. It seems like he works as safely and conservatively as possible. Repositioning 1.2 million, fat grafting 300,000, posterior/lower canthoplasty 1.5 million = 3 million (excluding VAT)
TS - Ji Seung-ryeol (2011/2016) -The director is really meticulous. It was my first time seeing a doctor put a protractor and ruler up to me during a consultation. (Even if they are on the desk, most doctors do not use them.) The consultant told me later that the director is obsessive about symmetry. It looked that way. I think he made the line more than 10 times during the consultation. Because my eyes are uneven, he said this side needs to be raised a bit more, and since the line I want is highly likely not to suit me, we should do upper canthoplasty and try to match it in the direction I want as much as possible. I could see that he was trying to listen to what the patient wanted. I could feel his meticulousness in the consultation.
Classy - Park Sung-hoon (2004/2009) -I booked because I heard it was famous for outline folds, but it just seemed like the director is an outline-fold fanatic. This was the only place that told me an outline fold was possible for me, so it helped me decide I should not do it here. Originally, they said they take photos and consult while looking at the photos, but maybe the consultant called the director in a rush, so the consultation proceeded without photos. He looked at my eyes a few times and just said an outline fold would work lol. When I asked if the inner corner looked a bit stuffy, he said it did not look stuffy at all to him. He was just someone who had already made up his mind. No matter what I said, he said it did not look that way to him. He did not explain why not and just insisted it was not lololol Repositioning, posterior/lower canthoplasty, medial/upper canthoplasty, double eyelid surgery (incisional method), ptosis correction = 3.8 million (including VAT)
Thank You - Kim Hyung-seok (2008/) -The staff were a bit cold. Their eyes and guiding gestures made it obvious they were a bit annoyed. The consultant was kind, and the director also consulted sincerely. He explained well why an outline fold would not work and recommended a few lines. Because the inner corner line could be covered, he recommended doing upper canthoplasty together. He said to think carefully about posterior/lower canthoplasty because my eyes could become sanpaku eyes, and since my eyes should not be overdone, I might not feel much difference. He recommended micro fat grafting along with under-eye fat repositioning too, but said to do that later if it seems necessary after seeing the postoperative progress. Repositioning 1.2 million, posterior/lower canthoplasty 1 million, upper canthoplasty 400,000, double eyelid surgery 1 million = 3.96 million (including VAT)
Icon - Yoo Hyun-seok (1998/2003) -The director was very cynical. It felt like he only told me whether things would or would not work based on what I had discussed with the consultant. He looked at my eyes once and said, double eyelid surgery can be done, there is space for posterior/lower canthoplasty, upper canthoplasty can be done together during double eyelid surgery, and under-eye fat repositioning would improve things. That was the end. He roughly made the line a few times and left. The consultant came in together and stood there, which bothered me a little. The clinic was much smaller than I expected. Repositioning 1.65 million, medial/upper canthoplasty 1.32 million, ptosis correction, double eyelid surgery 2 million = 4.97 million > 4 million if writing a review
Machimpyo - Seo Hyo-seok (2005/2010) -I watched YouTube and went with very high expectations. I had almost decided to do it here when I went. The wait seems quite long. I somehow arrived 1 hour early, so I naturally expected to wait and did not think much of it, but when I came out after the consultation there were a lot of people. Anyway, both the consultant and the director were kind. But maybe because I expected too much after watching YouTube, I was so, so disappointed. The director really looked very tired and busy. Maybe because of that, the consultation was more insincere than I expected. He briefly looked at the photos taken before the consultation, explained my features, then marked dots above my eyes with a marker and said I should not set the line above that. When I talked about the part I was worried about, he said of course it could only turn out that way. When I said I was thinking about what kind of line would suit me, he told me to set it below the dots he marked and think about it. I came because I could not figure that out after thinking about it...ㅜ When I said I was worried that medial canthoplasty might make my impression look a bit strong, he said then do not do it. It is true, but somehow I felt disappointed lol. He did not seem interested in what image I wanted. When he told me to ask what I was curious about and I did, he concluded things like, that cannot be helped, then do not do it. His understanding of eyes seems really high, but I am not sure about his aesthetic standards. And in the middle, he spoke as if he would come back and then left lol. I had seen this in other reviews too, so I thought, oh, he left, but why does he do that..? lololol It seems like he could just say the consultant will come in and leave lolol He said, one moment, and left. Then the consultant came in and talked about the estimate, and suddenly brought up ptosis correction, which had not been mentioned at all during the consultation, and told me to decide that too. I did not hear any explanation about ptosis correction, so on what basis am I supposed to decide...?ㅜ I was flustered. If you are like me, do not go expecting too much after watching YouTube. Repositioning 1.1 million, posterior/lower canthoplasty 1 million, ptosis correction 1.5 million, non-incisional double eyelid surgery 800,000 = 4.4 million
