It’s already been a month lol Wow, revision rhinoplasty feels like one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life..! Actually, compared with people getting nose surgery for the very first time, I think people getting revision surgery probably worry much more deeply about whether or not to do it. When it’s not worse than before, but you’re vaguely unhappy with it, you wonder whether to spend this money or not, whether to go through the hardship or not, and it’s so much harder to make up your mind ㅠㅠ Even so, we only live once, so I decided to live with the nose I want! I made the decision and had revision surgery.
I was stressed about my small, thin nose that looked short and pinched. So for the nasal tip, we used autologous costal cartilage to make it slightly longer so the nostrils show less than before, and made the thin nasal tip slightly fuller!
They recommended not making the nose too long so the youthful look, which was one of the strengths of my face, wouldn’t disappear because of the surgery, so that’s what we did haha. Also, it’s important that the director and I are aligned in our aesthetic focus, and when I said I valued a natural look that harmonizes with the face, they matched that. At first, until week 2, I could clearly see the recovery happening, so there was no time to get bored and I kept thinking I was glad I did it. From after week 3, the major swelling went down and the subtle intermediate swelling period came, and from then on, it felt like the swelling was going down so slowly, and I started feeling frustrated lol Then now it’s just passed 4 weeks, and now that only a little residual swelling remains and I can see that my impression has changed, the feeling that I’m glad I did it is surging again, along with the fun of taking photos!! I heard philtrum swelling lasts more than a month. It still feels a bit awkward, but my mouth is getting more comfortable day by day.
I really understand how people considering revision rhinoplasty feel, but you should go to many consultations and find a place that fits you well!! And above all, for revision rhinoplasty in Gangnam, I recommend going to a place that specializes in noses! Instead of getting stressed and wasting money, if you’re going to do it once, I recommend doing it at a place that is definitely skilled and trustworthy. I think I agonized for almost 6 months choosing the hospital for my surgery and went around in person ㅠㅠ!!! During that time I suffered emotionally too, and going around was so exhausting that I even thought maybe I just shouldn’t do it, but now that I finally did it, I’m so proud and feel like I did well!!!
The director said I still need about 2 more weeks for the intermediate swelling on the bridge of the nose to go down, and that this isn’t the final nose shape yet!! But I already like it so much. My nose, which had become a slightly childish, unattractive nose because it was lengthened, has changed into a defined and elegant line!!
But the round, cute, youthful feeling that was also one of my strengths still remains when seen from the front, and the nose became larger with a thickness that matches the width of my face (my original nose was way too small), so I really like it!! Compared with how it looks in real life, when I take photos, a lot of residual swelling still shows up..! I’m waiting for the 2-month mark ㅜㅜ I heard that if the nose looks pretty immediately after surgery, later the height or thickness may feel a bit lacking, so even if it looks a little swollen right after, the final version needs to turn out pretty!!!
Anyway, I got so proud and excited that I rambled on and it got long! The conclusion is I highly recommend revision surgery! We only live once, so let’s do what we want and live with pretty faces! And for revision surgery, absolutely do it in Seoul, at a place specializing in revision rhinoplasty, and even if it’s expensive, do it somewhere skilled! That’s my point.
