Review after going around for revision nose surgery consultations

Going around for consultations as someone from outside Seoul is so hardㅜㅜ I’ll write as much detail as possible for reference! First, I have a low bulbous nose and a long, drooping nose. During my first surgery, I had a 4 mm L-shaped silicone implant + autologous dermis at the nasal tip, which made my nasal tip area even bigger. No nasal correction was done, and no cartilage of any kind was used. I went to a total of 5 places for consultations, and I think going to more places would be meaningless, so I’m going to decide from these!

1 ㄷㅇㅇ (Director ㅂㅈㅇ)

Silicone replacement 4-5 mm + donated costal cartilage + septal cartilage + bulbous nose correction

Since I’m from outside Seoul, I had surgery about 10 years ago at a hospital that was basically right in front of my house, and after thinking about revision surgery, this was my first time going around Seoul for consultations. I thought large hospital = systematic, so bigger must be better, and this was the first place I went. Honestly, my first impression wasn’t bad! The whole building was one hospital, and the desk staff were really kind, and it genuinely felt systematic. I think I also met a good consultant. The price was the cheapest among places using costal cartilage. But later, thinking back, I realized I hadn’t heard any explanation at all about aftercare or AS! I only found that out while going around for consultations haha The director was kind, but looked so tired, and when I asked, “Would it be okay to do it like this here?” it felt like he answered, “Yes, that should be enough,” so I was half trusting and half doubtful. It felt frustrating because there wasn’t an explanation of what exactly goes into bulbous nose correction? But since it was my first consultation round, it was also something I missedㅠ   2 ㅇㅇㅂ (Director ㄱㅈㅇ)

Silicone replacement 6-7 mm + septal cartilage + donated costal cartilage + nasal tip + long/drooping nose correction + lowering the nostril wings + lowering the columella

Honestly, I liked the line and reviews here the most. Here, first of all, the director had a lot of pride, and as soon as he saw me he told me even things that other places hadn’t mentioned, so I was really drawn in. But it felt like the direction the director pursued was very strong, so honestly I kept debating until the endㅜㅜ It didn’t feel like finding a compromise, more like “follow me!” haha The silicone height also felt burdensome, so when I said it was too high, he said that to get the look I wanted, that much had to be inserted. He was the only one who said the silicone was moving, the nose was crooked, and the skin on the nasal bridge had become thin and red. He also said all silicone types are different. But when he said issues like that are his responsibility during surgery, it did make me trust him. I think the consultant here was the best. Even without me asking first, I learned a lot of information here about materials, care, side effects, and so on!

3 ㄴㄴ (Director ㄱㅇㅎ)

Silicone replacement 6 mm + septal cartilage + ear cartilage

I had designated another director, but it was changed to this director. They said he’s good at bulbous noses. Even though it’s a revision, they said since almost nothing had been touched, it would be similar to a first surgery. Other places said my septal cartilage was being pressed by the silicone and that there wasn’t enough septal cartilage, so they suggested costal cartilage, but only this place said septal cartilage alone would be enough. But that’s where I gave up on this place lol Since it’s a revision, I wanted it firmly fixed and I don’t want to go as far as a second revision, so I would rather use costal cartilage. Also, more than anything, it wasn’t waiting here and there in between, but just waiting for the director took 2 hours, so I was so exhausted that I decided not to do it. The price was the cheapest!

4 ㅎㅌ (Director ㅎㅅㅊ)

Silicone replacement + nasolabial angle correction + cartilage reduction + dermis removal + cartilage tying + septal cartilage + ear cartilage

This place definitely felt like a private clinic, and I liked that they seemed confident. It was the only place among the ones I visited that mentioned 3D silicone. But as I was getting the consultation, I felt that although bulbous nose correction would definitely be done, the result would still keep a natural feel, whereas this place consulted me toward a more glamorous look. They also mentioned 6-7 mm siliconeㅜㅜ Honestly, I’m okay with my nasal bridge now, so I don’t have any desire to raise it more, and I wondered if it could hold up if it went as far as 7 mm, so I decided to pass here tooㅜㅜ Since this is a private clinic, I think it’s good that they check progress up to 6 months. At other places, after the stitches are removed at 2 weeks, they’ll see me if I want, otherwise that’s itㅜㅜ The consultation with both the director and consultant was very detailed, so that was good. They were all kind haha

5 ㅁㅇㄷ (Director ㅇㄱㅇ)

Silicone replacement 5 mm + septal cartilage + donated costal cartilage if needed + ear cartilage + long/drooping nose correction + nostril reduction

I had the first appointment slot, so I don’t think I waited long. Honestly, other places also took a very, very long time. During the director’s consultation, not only did he draw diagrams, but he explained why costal cartilage would need to be used, why ear cartilage would need to be used, and understood my needs. He was the only one who recommended nostril reduction, but I said I felt resistant to nostril reduction. Then he didn’t push it further and said we could see and do it later if needed. I think the consultation was very detailed, and after hearing enough explanation and discussing the height I wanted and the materials to use, I made up my mind to do it here. I also liked that they only do two surgeries a day, maximum three, and I liked the part about how they would provide aftercare! I saw other reviews saying they don’t do it properly and that they lie several people down and operate, not just one person, but I don’t really care about that, so as long as they definitely do what they said they would do, well haha The price is on the higher side, but as long as I don’t need a second revision, I’m in a state where I really want to do it properly even if I pay a bit more, so I made up my mind, paid the reservation deposit, and left.

What I wrote above are the parts that would add cost during consultation! I didn’t separately list things that didn’t add extra cost and were included within the price. Except for ㅎㅌ, all of them had partial review discounts and same-day booking discounts. Whew, this is so hard. If I get surgery, I guess it’ll really start from thenㅜㅜㅜ If you have anything you’re curious about, ask haha
