Before/after Ever since I was young, I thought my aegyo-sal was way too thick. When I sat under lighting and things like that, my aegyo-sal looked like it had several folds stacked on top of each other, and it was so thick. The hollow??? where it curves into the front cheek under the aegyo-sal was really deeply sunken. So I looked older, and the biggest deciding factor was that I was shocked after seeing a photo someone else took of me, so I decided to get surgery. Before getting under-eye fat repositioning, I looked into it a lot, and people said there were many who regretted it. Most places said that if you get under-eye fat repositioning, they recommend fat grafting too, and I had also seen a lot of posts saying not to get fat grafting, so I was really conflicted. But while going around to 5 clinics, whenever I took off my mask during consultations with the doctor or consultant, they all went, “Ah~~~,,,,,” and said I needed fat grafting to see a bigger effect. So I ended up doing under-eye fat repositioning + fat grafting to the front cheeks together. I saw a lot of posts saying you can return to daily life in a day or two, but with the swelling I experienced, I stayed home for over a week. The swelling kept moving downward, so my face even became square-jawed. Even after surgery, sensation came back late on the right side. It’s almost been 2 years since the surgery, and I’m satisfied with how it looks on the outside, but when I touch under my right eye, I do have sensation, yet still it feels somehow strange. It feels different from the left side. The left side just feels like it did before surgery, but the right side I can’t really explain it, but it just feels weird. Even when I go to the clinic, they only say it will come back, that it’s just taking time. It’s not like the appearance is strange, and it’s something only I can feel, so there’s nothing much I can do. It doesn’t interfere with daily life, and the fat was removed well, so I’m just living with it. But through this, I also felt that a clinic’s aftercare is important. No matter how good they say they are, it might not be right for me, so I hope you look carefully into aftercare, AS, and all of that, and make a cautious choice.
