I had eye surgery 2 years ago. The surgery was done by first putting me under general anesthesia, and then while I was under general anesthesia, local anesthesia was administered around the eye area. Maybe because I had an incisional procedure, there was quite a strong smell of burning flesh during the surgery. It did not hurt at all during the surgery. However, when they removed the fat, I kept feeling the sensation of fat being detached from my eyelid. It felt like something sticky, like slime(?) in my eye, was being peeled away. It did not hurt at all! After the surgery, I went into a swelling-reduction room to reduce the swelling. After the surgery, once the anesthesia wore off, I felt like my eyes were bruised and had a throbbing kind of pain. (It was different from a stinging feeling.) As soon as the pain started, I took the prescribed medication and slept, and the pain was gone. 7 days after surgery, I went to have the epicanthoplasty stitches removed. I remember that a nurse removed the stitches for me. It prickled a bit, but it was not very painful.
It has been 2 years since the surgery, and now the swelling has gone down a lot. However, maybe because I had an incisional procedure, the surgical scars are quite noticeable. Still, overall I am satisfied with my eye surgery. I hope everyone has surgery they are satisfied with!
