Before <before surgery> After <after surgery> After the college entrance exam, I had double-eyelid surgery at my parents’ recommendation. Since I usually wasn’t interested in cosmetic surgery, makeup, or otherwise enhancing my appearance, I went to the clinic without any prior information about the characteristics of my eyes, the eye shape I wanted, or the surgical methods. At first, the word “surgery” itself scared me a lot, and I was afraid and worried that it would hurt a lot. But the clinic manager, the staff at the desk, the nurses, and the doctor were all very kind. In particular, the manager and the doctor carefully explained the surgical method that suited me and the surgical process in a reassuring way, so I was able to overcome my fear. After surgery, my eyes felt a bit dry and stiff, and there was some swelling and bruising, so it bothered me a little, but it gradually went away. Every time I went in for a follow-up check, the doctor told me it had turned out well and kindly answered my questions, so I felt reassured and grateful. Now, three months after surgery, I’m very satisfied, and it seems to have become so natural that I can hardly remember what my eyes looked like before.
