I regret it. I hope there will be no other victims like me. This is a review about the side effects after surgery, the absurd handling and responses, and the false guidance. (Detailed symptoms of the side effects are at the bottom.)
After under-eye fat repositioning, I developed discomfort and side effects (scleral show, loss of sensation, change in facial impression, no improvement in dark circles). Because I was anxious, I requested a follow-up with the director, but in the end the hospital did not schedule a follow-up with the director. They answered, “After surgery, it is right to observe the course for about 6 months to 1 year while the fat adheres and the survival rate is monitored.” So I had no choice but to wait, and since I myself had a lot of surgical experience and knew that some things get better with time, I waited.
More than 6 months passed, and the symptoms were the same, so I kept requesting a follow-up with the director. I managed to get a follow-up appointment only after a really, really hard time. (Until then, the hospital asked me to send photos over KakaoTalk and gave answers over KakaoTalk based on the photos.) In fact, if there had been nothing wrong with my face, there would have been no reason to contact them other than for swelling care. It took about 8-9 months to be seen for a follow-up.

The answers I received after finally getting that difficult follow-up were ridiculous. = Because the director had surgery afterward, he answered quickly and left, and after that the counseling manager gave additional answers.
>> My dark circles did not improve. I requested before-and-after photos, but they said the photos are discarded once the surgery is completed, so I could not see them. They answered that a third fat graft could be done to cover it one more time, but that they did not recommend it, and told me to think about it.
>> I asked whether it made sense that the abnormal sensation was not only in the surgical area but even down to my lips. I received the answer, “That area wasn’t operated on, though..?” ,,,
>> When I smile, one eye does not lift and becomes scleral show. I asked whether an A/S revision was possible and asked them to open it up and check, but they said they had never seen a case like mine before, and that because the inside used dissolvable sutures, not fixation sutures, there would be nothing they could do even if they opened it up? That was the answer I received.
After the follow-up, I could not understand it at all and felt drained, so I went home and contacted them again asking to schedule another follow-up with my guardian. However, the hospital falsely told me that having a follow-up with a guardian would violate the Medical Service Act. (I asked again more than 5 times by phone and by KakaoTalk.)
They cited Article 21 of the Medical Service Act (records, inspection) and refused to schedule a follow-up with my guardian. (Confirmed by a lawyer - this is false guidance.)
When I asked them to give my guardian the same explanation that it would violate the Medical Service Act, they said they had no obligation to speak with my guardian. After that, I lost trust in the hospital, and judged that any future A/S and treatment follow-up would all be meaningless. I requested a full refund and an apology from the staff member who had given the guidance about violating the Medical Service Act, but the hospital answered that an apology from the staff would be difficult and mentioned half the amount > I refused.

<Detailed symptoms of side effects after under-eye fat repositioning>
1. No sensation in half of the face (nerve damage). Hospital’s answer = wait. No sensation in the upper lip, cheek, cheekbone, and half of the nose. I think “tingling” and “numb and prickly” are the right expressions. Also, it is difficult to make various facial expressions naturally. When I eat a hamburger, I cannot open my mouth wide. Because my lips feel prickly and numb. My face keeps itching, and I cannot tell whether my nose is running or whether something is on it, because I cannot feel it. (So after surgery, I developed a habit of frequently wiping my nose and mouth.) -The sensory symptoms are really varied (it itches, then when I touch my cheekbone I feel nerve sensation in my lips...)
2. Scleral show. After surgery, my eyes became asymmetrical. Hospital’s answer = in conclusion, there is nothing they can do even if they open it up, and it would be the same. One under-eye area is fixed and does not lift. (A feeling that the under-eye area is fixed, tightness) (When I smile, one side is fixed downward and does not lift naturally.)
3. No effect on dark circles. (I requested before-and-after photos but could not see them. Hospital’s answer = think about a third fat graft. They said the photos are discarded once the surgery is completed.)

As someone suffering from side effects of under-eye fat repositioning, I would like to give this advice.
A face that has been operated on once can never be returned to its original state. The hospital will not take responsibility for it either. Even if the hospital takes some responsibility through a refund or compensation for damages, in the end it cannot reverse the side effects that you have to live with for the rest of your life. Realistically, it cannot take responsibility for a patient’s life forever. In the end, irreversible cosmetic surgery side effects inevitably become entirely the patient’s burden.
When reviews about hospital side effects are posted on domestic sites or domestic apps, if the hospital requests it, they inevitably may be temporarily hidden first. Countless posts praising cosmetic surgery pour in, but countless side-effect reviews are quickly hidden from consumers’ eyes. In the end, it is difficult for consumers to make rational choices based on sufficient information. Side effects cannot be reversed. I wrote this review to share information, hoping that even those who are considering or have decided on cosmetic surgery will keep in mind that the possibility of becoming the person affected by cosmetic surgery side effects is not low, and choose carefully.
