Before<Before>After<After>Before<After>Before<After>I only kept looking into it, then finally had surgery. I thought about it for a long time before deciding on surgery, but from start to finish, I didn’t really research the surgical direction much myself. I was just vaguely picturing in my head, “I want a nose like this,” but when I went for the consultation, they understood my messy explanation perfectly and set the direction for what surgery I needed. They explained well which procedures would be necessary and which would not, and kept asking if there was anything else I was curious about, so I was able to resolve even small questions. The director was friendly yet professional in the way he spoke, and I felt that if it was here, I could trust them with it and they would do a good job, so I had the surgery.
On the day of surgery, I just couldn’t get used to breathing through my mouth, and it was hard because everything from my mouth to my throat was so dry. I don’t know whether nasal packing is usually removed the next day or not, but I had surgery on Saturday and had it removed on Monday, and I think the time before removing the packing was the hardest..
I consider myself the type who bruises and swells easily, so for two days after surgery I slept completely sitting up, and maybe thanks to that, I didn’t have much swelling compared with other people. I also had almost no bruising.. It hurt so much when they removed the packing, and because the packing was so big, I worried my nostrils might become larger than before surgery.. lololol but after it was removed, they got smaller on their own as time passed.
Even after the splint was first removed, I didn’t feel like I was severely swollen.. but they said the swelling would go down more, and I can see it decreasing every day. At first, my nose was so highㅠ I thought it looked like a witch nose, but as the swelling goes down, it seems to be gradually coming down more naturally. Since I originally had almost no columella, other people may not see a big change, but I feel like the nasolabial angle has been corrected quite a bit! I still need to keep watching the progress a bit more, but because the swelling and bruising are minimal, daily recovery has also been on the faster side, so I’m quite satisfied so far haha I definitely feel that the hardness of the nasal tip and the sensory abnormalities are gradually improving as time passes. I’m just hoping the scar disappears quickly
