Hi everyone! I had double eyelid surgery 10 years ago, and back then they didn’t call it natural adhesion. They promoted it as a new technique that only that hospital could do. They said it was non-incisional but less likely to come undone than the buried suture method.. I was young, and I didn’t search online and visit multiple consultations like people do now. I just had one consultation at a clinic in Apgujeong and did it, so honestly I barely remember the clinic name or the director’s name.
I originally had thin double eyelids since I was young, but my two eyes were slightly uneven (the lines), and one side kept coming undone, so I developed a habit of opening my eyes forcefully. That’s why I got it done. It was my first cosmetic surgery, and I wasn’t very dissatisfied with my face, so I asked them to just make sure it wouldn’t come undone as much as possible. Maybe because of that, the asymmetry wasn’t corrected either But I was satisfied... there were no scars, and it just felt like my own eyes became a bit more defined. My appearance didn’t change much, so from a month after surgery, even longtime friends didn’t know I had surgery. Sometimes when my face was severely swollen (maybe two or three times over the past 10 years?), one double eyelid would disappear for about an hour in the morning, but it came back, and it has never come undone when the swelling wasn’t extremely bad.
But as time has passed, I guess because I’m getting older, the double eyelid line seems to be drooping slightly, and I’m bothered by the difference between the lines. So I’m debating whether to get revision surgery again with natural adhesion. What do you all think? My eyes protrude slightly, and I do have some upper eyelid fullness. I’d prefer not to get canthoplasty if possible.. I don’t know whether I need eye surgery again or a forehead lift. I’m not sure if it shows well in the photos, but as I age, I don’t know if my eyes are protruding more or if the eye hollows are getting deeper, but the area above my eyes looks a bit round and heavy. I think my eye-opening muscles are okay though
When I had my first surgery, opening my eyes forcefully was a complex for me, so the advantages seemed much bigger, and I did it without hesitation and didn’t regret it. But now it would just be finely refining the line, and I don’t hate my current eyes or anything, so I’m hesitating a bit because what if I end up with a noticeable scar or like my eyes less after doing it.. What would you do?
