I had already had double eyelid surgery before, and this time I only got canthoplasty. In everyday life, I was often told that my eyes looked intense because the outer corners were turned up. I also kept noticing that the back part of my eyes looked cramped, so I decided on dual canthoplasty. When I consulted with the director, I said I only wanted the canthoplasty procedure. They said that if it’s opened too much, it can cause scarring or an awkward D-shape, so they would widen it as much as possible without making it stick back together unnaturally. I liked that the director understood my needs well and checked my eyes carefully. Compared with double eyelid surgery, the swelling was definitely less, though blinking felt a bit uncomfortable at first. After the stitches were removed, it definitely felt more comfortable. There’s no redness showing, and the scar is fairly light at this point, so I think it’ll be barely noticeable once more time passes. Looking at it now, I’m very satisfied, as long as it doesn’t stick back together again.
