My cheekbones protruded quite severely to the sides, and I had wanted to get them done since I was a student. I saved my military salary aggressively through a savings account, and as soon as I was discharged, I had it done in early 2019. I was extremely satisfied with the result and really got a clean facial line.
Because my skin elasticity was not very good and my cheekbones were severe, so they were reduced a lot, I assumed sagging would definitely happen and managed it very intensely. Even before any sagging appeared, I got small maintenance treatments every month, such as InMode and Ultherapy. I also had threads inserted and laser lifting, and I spent far more money on maintenance than the cost of my cheekbone surgery. But starting last year, it gradually began to sag, and now my side profile is becoming close to a bulldog, and if I even smile, I completely look like Shin-chan. I also paid attention to weight management, so my weight is almost the same and my body fat is lower than at the time of surgery, but sagging still happened. But if I had not managed it intensely, it probably would have happened within 1 or 2 years. I had it done knowing this could happen, so now I’m going to look into a facelift.
In conclusion, if your cheekbones are truly, truly a complex, I recommend the surgery. But if you are not prepared to manage your weight strictly or even get a facelift later, I would say do not get the surgery. Sagging will probably come someday in most cases, and it looks very unpleasant. I hope people do not get surgery with the naive thought of just borrowing 1 to 2 years of youth. Sagging looks much worse than you might think, and you may even start hating looking in the mirror.
