Before/after 3-week review of incisional double eyelid surgery with epicanthoplasty
I visited after getting a recommendation from a friend’s acquaintance. It was a famous clinic, and a few people around me knew about it too! My friend had surgery here about 2 weeks before me, and her line settled beautifully, so I decided to have it done by the same director as my friend. Personally, I felt like buried-suture double eyelid surgery might come undone, and since the skin around my eyes is on the looser side, I decided to get incisional surgery with an in-out line. But since I’m an office worker and couldn’t avoid going out, I briefly wondered if I should do the buried-suture method ㅠㅠ They said the line I wanted would suit my eyes better if done by incision, so I just confirmed incisional surgery!! People around me said it would be better to show celebrity photos, so on the day of surgery I brought photos of Hong Su-zu and Go Youn-jung lol. But I told them I wanted a line that was just slightly thicker than theirs.
I clearly remember only up to the point where the director drew the line for me, had me open and close my eyes several times, and said there was nothing painful. After that, I have no memory. I don’t think the surgery took that long, but my memory was just erased. I vaguely feel like the director told me to open my eyes, and when I came to again, I think I was in the recovery room… I think I teared up a lot too. After going home, I was busy all day until bedtime, just doing cold compresses and staring in the mirror. On the first day, it seriously looked like I had two rows of sundae stuffed on my eyes ㅠㅠ
Even looking at it now, it’s amazing that my eyes used to look like this. For about 3 days, because of the epicanthoplasty, it stung and itched so much I thought I was going crazy ㅠㅠ Since I had to return to daily life quickly, thanks(?) to moving around often, walking a lot, and eating well, I think the swelling went down really fast! I live out of town, so it wasn’t easy to visit the clinic on a weekday, and my stitch removal got pushed back a few days from the original schedule. But after they were removed, the swelling went down really rapidly. The bruising is completely gone too, and people around me keep praising it. I really, really like it, and I was itching to do eye makeup ㅠㅠ I think there’s still some residual swelling left, and it still stings slightly when I touch it, so I still can’t do heavy makeup ㅠㅠ I’m hoping it gradually gets better! I’m not used to opening my eyes clearly, so I’m trying to keep paying attention to that from now on!
