If I get surgery this time, it will be my 4th surgery... There was exactly one thing that left an impression on me about Director Seo at Machimpyo Plastic Surgery, so I’ll talk about it.
By the time I had gone through three revision surgeries, how many times do you think I had tried setting a double-eyelid line? Back then, I probably worried about it alone for days like I do now, and the directors must have drawn lines for me too, and among those, I must have had the incision done with the line that suited my face best.
My last surgery was already 6 years ago. Now I’m in my very late 30s, and after getting forehead filler and then dissolving it, my overall facial elasticity is in a pretty bad state. My double eyelids show much less than they did at first, and the line has become faint, so I go around drawing thick eyeliner. I wanted my eyes to become bigger than they are now, but after Director Seo tried making the line a few times, he said my current line is definitely not a low line. (It really isn’t low. But as I got older, the line became smaller.) He said if it were raised higher than that, it wouldn’t suit me. He said it had been operated on at the line that suited me best at that time...... When he actually raised it by 1 mm and tried setting it again, it looked super awkward....... The height from my last surgery was the maximum height that suited my face best.
So the solution was to reset the center along the existing line, but raise only the front and the end a bit. The front line had been buried a lot in the skin. It was the least burdensome method for both the patient and the doctor. I’m older now too, and if this one fails too... I’d really want to die.
Thinking about it, even during my last surgery, it must have been done at the most suitable height, so if I raise it more from here, it would look awkward... The double eyelids getting smaller is aging. I didn’t want skin excision, and he sensed that I’m sensitive, so he didn’t even suggest it at all.
At another clinic, they also set the line 1 mm higher, but the line looked thick and way too awkward. In my head I was like, “This place is famous for revision surgery, so why are they setting the line like this...” But thinking about it now, I think that director also raised it by about 1 mm. That director just accepted my opinion that I wanted my eyes to look bigger and set it that way, while Director Seo advised against it because it would look awkward....
Oh, and after full-incision surgery (+ fat grafting done together), a small lump-like thing formed in my left eye... The doctor said it seemed like the fat graft had calcified. When I asked if it didn’t need to be removed, I guess he judged that living with it wouldn’t be a big problem. If I do the surgery, he said he would just pinch it with a non-incisional method. He probably thought it wasn’t serious enough to open everything up with a full incision and remove it.... But at another clinic, they said this needed to be removed through a full incision. It seems like the hard part is attached to the line... They said we need to figure out what this calcified, hardened thing is and resolve it. I’m confused about this part too. I’m not even going to make the line thick here, so should I really open it with a full incision... Or should I just give up on removing the hard part and pinch it with a non-incisional method......
Anyway, the conclusion is that the director seems to like a natural style, his surgical approach is very conservative, (recommended non-incisional surgery) and he seemed like a fairly warm person.
I organized several review photos in Excel and looked through them by clinic, and the lines are very natural, hmm, many also have an inner-double-eyelid feel ;; If I do it here, I may not become dramatically prettier, but I feel like it won’t be botched.
I plan to visit just one more place and then decide. If I don’t like that clinic, I think I’ll do it here.
