After researching online, I finally went for consultations!
First of all, I don’t like flashy styles; I prefer a natural look with a low line, so I looked through cosmetic surgery review photos and chose doctors who had many results with lines I liked.
I’m planning to visit a total of 6 places, and I’ll write reviews for the first 3 places first.
1. ㅇㅇㅇ Plastic Surgery Clinic - Director ㅈㅇㄱ
Consultation result: buried suture or incisional, my choice + epicanthoplasty
The reason I chose this place was that when I looked at reviews, there wasn’t much swelling and the results looked natural!
Overall, it was fine. It felt like the safe choice? It wasn’t excessive, there was no pressure, and they were kind.
But they didn’t speak very clearly, and overall it felt like they left a lot up to the patient. They told me to choose between buried suture and incisional too. (Though it did feel like they recommended buried suture a little more.) Since this is my first cosmetic surgery, I wanted them to tell me things a bit more definitively. So while consulting, I got the feeling that I probably wouldn’t do it here.
2. ㄹㅎ - ㅂㅈㄱ
Consultation result: incisional + epicanthoplasty
I chose this place because I looked through their review photos and liked the lines. As expected, out of the 3 places, the line they marked for me was my favorite!
And I liked that the director clearly told me what would be best to do.
The consultant and staff were kind, but the director didn’t really feel that kind. It felt a little rushed, and they mixed in casual speech; their tone was a bit commanding? But that doesn’t mean they were unfriendly!
Also, compared with the other places, this place felt more factory-like + commercial.
I liked the line they marked so much that I paid a deposit for now, but I’m still conflicted. (But among the three, this was the only place that required a deposit.) Whether it’s factory-like or commercial, if my eye surgery turns out well and I like it, that’s all that matters, but it’s true that it still bothers me. And this was also the only place that recommended incisional surgery. Since with eyes, there’s a high chance of revision surgery later due to sagging with age, I wonder if it might be better to preserve my skin layers and things like that now with buried suture for that time. With buried suture, even if it fails, it’s easier to fix. From that perspective, I do feel a bit anxious. But then again, I’m the sensitive and sharp(?) type, so if I get double eyelid surgery somewhere else, I feel like I’ll notice the difference in the line... I’m so torn...
3. ㅈㅇㅌ - ㅇㅎㅎ
Consultation result: natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty
The director was the most comfortable, kind, and good. I had written down questions, and they carefully went through each one and answered them. I felt the most at ease.
And more than anything, it felt like they thought from the patient’s perspective first. Rather than seeing me as a source of money, it felt like they truly treated me as a person.
Psychologically, this place made me feel the most reassured, and I really liked it, but I didn’t like the line as much as at ㄹㅎ, so that’s what I’m debating. My companion said there wasn’t much difference between the lines, but as I said earlier, I feel like after surgery I would notice that difference in the line...
