After<These bald patches appeared in 5 spots on my head lol>Before<Growing sprouts on my foreheadㅠㅠ>After<Now it’s smooth!>I had it done early last month, and today is exactly day 30, so I just came back from a follow-up visit! I had an endoscopic forehead lift, and I only had the forehead lift at a hospital specializing in lifts! (I didn’t have reduction surgery, only the lift!) I’ve been leaving comments here and there, but I’m just writing down what I learned while having the surgery, so if anyone here is interested, please refer to it!
First, I’m in my very late 20s. Almost 30... sniff I didn’t have surgery to improve forehead wrinkles, but for eye shape correction! To write a bit about my personal situation....... I had buried-suture double eyelid surgery 10 years ago, and as I got older, it all collapsed.. When I was in middle and high school, I used double-eyelid glue and tape a lotㅠ Maybe that’s why.. hmm hmm Anyway, I naturally have pretty deep epicanthal folds at the inner corners of my eyes, a narrow glabella, a narrow distance between my eyebrows and eyes, and a lot of fat on my upper eyelids... sob This is getting long.... Anyway, because of all that, I was looking into revision double eyelid surgery, but with my eyes, if I had revision surgery, I felt 3000% sure I’d end up with sausage eyes.. And once the buried sutures loosened, I already had a bad habit of opening my eyes with my forehead, and it got even worse, so sometimes my forehead would pull like it was spasming.. sigh..
On top of that, because of my age, opening my eyes with my forehead kept getting worse, so forehead wrinkles were starting to creep in, and my eyebrow muscles developed more, making the middle of my forehead look more sunken, or at least that’s how it felt... When I took photos, a huge sprout had settled in the area where the glabella and forehead crossed.. sob
Anyway, both my eyes and forehead were a problem, so at first, not knowing anything, I looked up things like double eyelid surgery and forehead fat grafting, then came across forehead lift surgery,, and wow, there are so many types too.. brow lift, forehead lift, Endotine lift.. if you do a lift, whether they make several incisions or not.. So I studied a lot, chose a hospital, and had the surgery! As of today after surgery, I’m completely very satisfied^^ I only regret that if I had done it sooner, I could have spent my 20s looking prettier.. That’s it for my story lol
I had only been writing these in comments, but I picked about 10 things people were curious about and am posting them!
If you’re interested in the surgery, please refer to this! Let’s all get prettier, fighting!
1) Number of incisions >> I had 5 incisions. One in the very center, one on each side of that, and one on each side at about a 45-degree angle upward from the temples? So 5 spots!
2) Surgical swelling >> At the place where I had surgery, they attach blood drains after surgery. So I visited the hospital once on the second day after surgery to remove the blood drains, and then visited again 5 days later (1 week after surgery) to have the stitches removed... When the blood drains were attached, rather than swelling, I was out of it from anesthesia aftereffects + pain after surgery, and because the blood drains were there, there was almost no swelling (honestly, I had no room to care lol..ㅠㅠ). But once they remove those blood drains? From then on, I swelled like crazy. I really swelled, completely swelled. I swelled so much that my double eyelids disappeared completely, and I was seriously wondering if I’d get stretch marks on my eyelids. On top of that, it was a chaotic bruise party of green + purple.. I was so worried I even called the hospital...ㅠㅠ Anyway, from day 6, the swelling started going down little by little, and when I visited the hospital on day 7, I was going to talk to the doctor about all kinds of swelling issues, but since it was going down, I had nothing to say.. lol Major swelling lasted 1 week, and from week 1 to week 2, it seemed like the green bruising on the upper eyelids and the residual swelling?? that was visible to the naked eye went down! Today is day 30, and to my eyes I don’t see any swelling at all, but the doctor said there’s still swelling left lol. They said it takes about 3 months~
3) Duration of results >> They said more than 10 years. I asked this before surgery too, and because I saw so many posts in this community saying the duration is short, I asked again today. They said short duration often happens when surgery is done with Endotine. They seemed to say Endotine breaks down easily inside the skin, and that the timing when it breaks down is around 1 year? For endoscopic lifting, the tissue is actually tied with sutures after dissection, so they said it lasts more than 10 years and not to worry.
4) When can acne extraction, meridian massage, and laser treatments be done? >> They said acne extraction is possible from 1 month after surgery, and things like meridian massage that apply strong pressure are possible from 3 months after surgery! (At first they told me to get HIFU laser after 2 months, but today when I went, they said I could even get it now~)
5) About postoperative neuralgia >> In my case, I intermittently have a tingling? pain that travels upward along the incision areas after surgery, and they said this is exactly the time when that pain appears during recovery..ㅠㅠ They said it will gradually disappear from month 3 and be gone after 6 months..ㅠ
6) Bumpy protrusions around the incision areas after surgery, like bumps formed >> They said it’s because sutures were tied there for tissue dissection, and since they are dissolvable sutures, it will start disappearing from 2 months.. haha They said it will be completely gone after 6 months... hehe
7) The skin around the incision areas looks deeply sunken along the incision line after surgery >> They told me not to worry because the skin will fill inㅠㅠ and that the hair that fell out around the surgical areas will all grow back (they said people with more hair tend to lose more hair.... Still, it’s a relief that they said it all grows back..ㅠㅠ). They said this also lasts 3-6 months... lol
8) I had the corrugator muscle cut... But after the major swelling went down, it looks like the corrugator muscle is still firmly there, and the middle of my forehead still looks sunken.. Did the surgery go well...?ㅠㅠ >> They said they didn’t remove anything by cutting the corrugator muscle; they only released it along the border under the eyebrows, so it’s normal for the corrugator muscle to be there, and the firmness is still swelling.. Also, because I still have the habit of opening my eyes with my forehead, it may look even more that way, but when I visit for the follow-up at 3 months after surgery, they’ll give me forehead Botox! They said if I get Botox then, it will definitely correct the habit of opening my eyes with my forehead, the swelling will go down more than now, and the tissue will settle well, so it will improve much more and not to worry... haha
The attached photos are the bald patch marks on my head after surgery... They say all the hair will grow back with time, so anyone who doesn’t know, please refer to them!
