It was my first in-person consultation, so I was really, really nervous. Since I’m a man, I don’t know much about plastic surgery and didn’t have much information, so at first I researched through YouTube and reviews from a community, then narrowed it down to 2-3 places and only visited 2 of them (the remaining one is ㄹㅂㄹ, and it’s at the end of May!)
Clinic name: ㅍㄹㅇㅂ Consultant: Director ㅇㅈㅇ Consultation fee: None Consultation details: This was the first plastic surgery clinic I had ever been to in my life. I had prepared various questions, but since I knew nothing, I brought my younger sibling with me. When I arrived, the clinic view was amazing lol. Starting with the consultation with the manager, she explained things in detail and also explained based on the photos taken (not CT, but facial photos). I have a deviated septum, so I wanted functional correction together with correction of my crooked nose.. They said they don’t do functional procedures (covered by actual-expense insurance) here. I think the consultation with Director ㅇㅈㅇ lasted about 15 minutes, and including the manager’s consultation it was 30-40 minutes in total. Anyway, the director also said my septum is very severely deviated, my facial axis is crooked, and my nose is also very crooked, so for something like the septum, it would be hard to see much effect. I also wanted nostril base reduction, but he said there was no need to do it, and for parts he didn’t recommend, he explained point by point why I didn’t need them. He said silicone would be used for the nasal bridge and that raising the nasal tip is possible too, but there is a clear limit for the bridge. My skin is too thin (honestly, until then I wondered whether my skin had been this thin), so he said it seemed absolutely impossible to go over 5 mm lolol. He said at most it would be 4 mm...
Clinic name: ㅁㅇㄷ Consultant: Director ㅇㅇㅌ Consultation fee: CT 10,000 won Consultation details: This was the second place I went to. First, they took facial photos and a CT, and I initially had a consultation with the deputy manager. It was my first time seeing my nose CT too, and I knew my septum was severely deviated, but I didn’t know it was this bad.. They said it had been a while since they’d seen someone whose nasal bone was in a zigzag shape (septum).. Even to me, it looked severe. They explained this and that thoroughly, and then Director ㅇㅇㅌ came in. Honestly, I had seen older reviews saying the consultation ended in 5 minutes, so I was worried, but I think it lasted about 15 minutes. He said my nasal bridge was higher than expected, so there was no need to use silicone and that we should go implant-free..? Regarding the septum, he also said functional surgery is possible, but it can’t be corrected perfectly. Right.. it would be hard to fix a zigzag nose 100%. Of course, he didn’t recommend nostril base reduction and said he probably wouldn’t do it himself either hehe. I was recommended nasal bridge (implant-free) + bulbous nose correction + crooked nose correction + lowering the nostril rim + columella refinement (donated rib cartilage, ear cartilage). Ah..! Most of all, he drew the before-and-after comparison with Photoshop.
But I nearly fell over when I heard the prices at both places. There’s donated rib cartilage involved, and they said my nose itself is naturally a difficult nose to operate on..? Something like thatㅠㅠ (There are nose photos in my first post!) So I also wonder if that’s why it’s expensive? For now, I’m going to look into other clinics too, think it over slowly, and decideㅎㅎ That’s all for now!
