Day of surgery - Went into surgery in the afternoon after fasting for 12 hours .. I was so nervous, but as soon as I went into the operating room and took two breaths, I lost memory and woke up in the recovery room. I felt nauseous, so the teacher added medicine to my IV. I wasn't allowed to sleep for 4 hours, so it was really miserable. I was so exhausted that my eyes kept closing, but not being able to sleep was the hardest ㅠㅠㅠ Nothing was particularly painful, but I was so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep well ㅠㅠ (Respect to those who did 3 types..) I wondered if I really had to go this far... I had a reality check.
Day 1 - Removed the drain.. The sensation was so strange.. Then discharged, took a taxi home with my mom. Couldn't even finish one protein shake. No appetite either. I had to take medicine, so I ate roughly. I got up when taking medicine and kept sleeping. Every time I woke up, I was more and more swollen.
Day 2 - My lower lip swelled like crazy, and I was just .. in a pufferfish state.. I couldn't go anywhere. When I look at reviews in this community, there are lots of reviews with no swelling.. Even 1 type swells this much, but 3 types look that fine? I'm a bit suspicious.. Still, today I started getting hungry, so I scooped a little ice cream and melted chocolate in my mouth. When the medication starts wearing off, my jaw area hurts a little. I took off the compression band for the first time earlier, and the jaw angle was gone.. Fascinating. Also, when I open my mouth, there's a sound from the jaw area, so I'm wondering if that's okay and when the swelling will go down..
Day 3 I think the lip swelling may have gone down a little. Overall I feel like Moomin. After drinking chocolate milk and eating lots of ice cream, my condition improved. If it weren't for the compression band, I think I could wear a mask and go about daily life. Today I showered for the first time and lightly brushed my teeth with a baby toothbrush. I'll only know after the swelling goes down, but the angle is gone, so I already like it ㅠㅠ
Day 9 Now there's no particular pain. The difference in swelling between morning and evening is extremely big. With evening swelling, I could meet people without a mask?! My mouth opens about 2 and a half fingers..? Before surgery I could never wear a cap, but now I can, so I'm happy..ㅠㅠㅠ For eating, if meat is cut up a bit, I can eat it all. But I can't eat irritating foods. (Because of the incision site)

What I want to say to everyone considering surgery
Bone surgery is really major surgery.. and it has many side effects, so I only want to recommend it to people whose complex is really severe (people desperate enough to accept the side effects). I think it's best to keep surgery to the minimum, just enough to remove the complex. And I recommend filtering out places that are too cheap or places doing events.. Do lots of online research and in-person consultations!
What I want to say to everyone with surgery coming up
Make sure to manage your condition well! No alcohol or smoking x no dieting x keep your mind at ease and sleep well!
I normally exercise a lot, so I exercised even until the day before surgery. I think because I had surgery in the best condition, the pain was less. My mom even said, surprisingly, you're not saying it hurts? I barely had any bruising either. From 1 week before surgery, I recommend not dieting and eating a lot of clean food!
If you ask anything you're curious about, I'll answer as much as I can.
