I had been thinking about things like Shurink, Ultherapy, InMode, or fat-dissolving injections, but since I was born with a peanut-shaped face where the area under my cheekbones is sunken in, I had always wanted to try thread lifting long before any sagging even started. I kept hesitating because I was scared about threads remaining in my face, so I put it off, but now that a few years have passed, I think the time has come to seriously consider it again lolㅠ
I’ve been getting laser lifting treatments consistently for about 2 years, and it’s not like they had no effect at all, but I only saw some effect around the lower cheeks and V-line area. The sunken area under my cheekbones, which stresses me out the most, absolutely could not be improved no matter what I did, even if I touched the bone..
So since I had some free time, I thought I’d at least go for consultations. I booked about 4-5 places, but because of time, I only had consultations at 3. All 3 were places I booked after reading reviews through internet searches and cafes, and they were clinics known for lifting and liposuction..
(Oh, and plastic surgery clinics in Seoul don’t seem to have lunch breaks... I’m not a Seoul city mouse but a country mouse, so I didn’t know lol)
First clinic When I went in, the kind staff welcomed me, and after sitting and waiting briefly, I filled out various things before the consultation, like my surgery and procedure history. After waiting about 5 minutes, the consultant guided me to the consultation room, and the director came in personally and consulted with me while looking at the condition of my face.
Surgical plan A procedure called FaceTite: after liposuction of the lower cheeks and double chin fat, they would use Mint threads and another type of thread to improve the hollowing under the cheekbones.
(To be honest, this is all I remember.. Thread types are so hard~~ It was Mint thread, which has the best fixation strength, and one other type..
And I guess liposuction equipment has gotten better these days compared with before.. They showed me how the machine works, and it looked like a mini iron for the face... They said it’s really effective.. But maybe because it’s good? It was expensive hehe)
And I had something I was curious about, so I asked the director one question. I asked whether the side cheekbones would protrude if the threads were inserted and pulled, and they said that the threads are not inserted through just one hole, but from several places and pulled, so that wouldn’t happen.. Actually, I had briefly seen online that inserting and pulling through multiple holes is good, so I was satisfied with the consultation.
Second clinic I moved my appointment time way earlier and went, and they also guided me kindly. I filled out the same kinds of things and waited briefly. The consultant consulted with me first, then the director came in and explained the surgical direction, and then the consultant gave the final explanation again.
Surgical plan Liposuction mainly on the front cheeks and double chin, a Triderm procedure, and Mint threads + I threads, total 4 lines, or was it 16 lines.. I forgot how many linesㅠ
(Here too, they said they insert the threads in multiple directions
But.. they kept trying to persuade me?.. saying there would be a discount if I paid today.. I wanted to decide carefully, so I didn’t really like being pushed.
Third clinic I went at my reserved time, but I waited over 30 minutes just waiting.. After waiting and waiting, I had consultations with the consultant and director. This place was on the pricier side. They asked which clinics I had gone to before, and when I said the clinic name, they criticized it, saying that clinic’s doctor wasn’t a specialist...
Surgical plan Liposuction of two areas, double chin and lower cheeks, muscle tying, inserting 8 threads
(Huh?! I hadn’t been thinking of muscle tying, but they recommended it)
ㅜㅜThe last clinic was the worst..
