I went around for consultations for revision eyelid surgery. I narrowed it down to 4 fairly well-known places and went to them. If I found one I liked, I was planning to have surgery as soon as possible. But after the consultations, I’m only more confused ; ㅠ
My current eyes are somewhere between in-out and semi-out, and I had originally wanted an in-line look like inner double eyelids. But my first surgery made the line bigger than expected and it became sausage-like, so I went for revision consultations to lower the line.
1. ㄱㄴㅅㅇ Recommended the two-line method / diagnosed that I have a little extra eyelid skin / said they would release the adhesion, and if more extra skin appears, a small excision might be done later. But since excision may not be needed for now, they called it the two-line method. There were many community reviews about the doctor’s way of speaking, and many said the consultation was not good, but unexpectedly, I liked this consultation the most. They answered everything I didn’t know and told me to keep asking more later. I had heard online that the starting height at the inner corner of the eye cannot be changed, so I asked if that was true, and they said there’s no such thing and it doesn’t matter where the line starts at the inner corner. They said my depressed scar is deep and I have protruding eyes. A step-off may occur. No fat grafting needed above the eyes / no ptosis correction needed The doctor is not the type to guarantee things. They said even the two-line method would leave scars.. People may be divided on it, but I actually preferred this style. Deposit, pressure to have surgery X Consultation fee: 10,000 won
2. ㅇㅋ Recommended the two-line method, diagnosed that I have no extra eyelid skin / said a little ptosis correction would be included. This was the place I liked the most after seeing review photos on apps and elsewhere. I went in half-decided on this place, but both the doctor’s consultation and the consultant’s consultation were so-so, so I’m conflicted. Deposit, pressure to have surgery X
3. ㄹㅇㄹ Recommended the two-line method / said the outer part might be excised slightly / diagnosed no need for ptosis correction This place also does quite a lot of revision surgeries, and I was also concerned about dark circles under my eyes, so I put it on my list. They do seem good.... but there don’t seem to be many surgery cases for people my age, and the line didn’t really appeal to me. Slight pressure to have surgery
4. ㄱㄹㅂ Recommended excision / diagnosed that I have extra eyelid skin / ptosis correction needed (said it would be done lightly) The last clinic, which confused me the most. Of course it’s a clinic famous for the two-line method, and since the doctor does a lot of it, I thought they would recommend the two-line method. But unlike the previous clinics, this was the only one that recommended excision. ;; They said a fully in-line double eyelid cannot be done (because of the epicanthoplasty scar). They said something like, even if you block it with a bank, it will eventually flow that way? They said the best option now is something like IU’s eyes? where the inner-corner line is visible, but the line is small. The consultant said my current eyes look sleepy and blank.. I know my pupils aren’t fully exposed, but I’ve never really been told I look blank or sleepy before. When the doctor first came in and looked at my eyes, they sighed and said, “Why did they do the epicanthoplasty like this?” Anyway, they were extremely confident and said the deep fixation would improve and there would be no scar. Slight pressure to have surgery
After the consultations, I’m just confused... Why is revision surgery this hard.. I’m planning to also visit ㅇㅇㅋ and ㅇㄴㅋ in May ㅜ
