I’m in my early 50s. If I’m going to do it, they said lower blepharoplasty is better than under-eye fat repositioning. They showed me several cases and recommended a surgery that lifts even the sagging cheek area, not just a simple lower blepharoplasty. It was written as volume-up lower blepharoplasty, but after searching I learned the surgery name is midface lift. The doctor’s consultation was not rushed at all and was kind and detailed, but thinking about it, if he was recommending several complex surgeries, that was probably natural. His explanation was persuasive enough that I thought it might be okay, and the before-and-after case photos were so good that I almost booked it, but I wanted to get more consultations and then decide, so in the end I did not choose it. I asked about the recovery period because of work, and he acted like it wasn’t much different from under-eye surgery, but when I searched, that wasn’t true. And he said things like if it were him, he would do it this way too, but another hospital told me plastic surgery should never be done excessively, and that it’s better to do it only when really necessary. I think how far to operate depends on the hospital’s style, but another hospital persuaded me by saying that compared to my current age, the sagging was not severe, and if I did lower blepharoplasty now, there might not be enough skin left to remove when it is really needed later. After searching, I saw that a lift is not easy and the side effects can be significant, so I gave up on booking.
