I had a revision surgery more than 10 years ago. I liked the shape, but the costal cartilage support made my nose too blocked. I struggled and asked about it several times, but I was told the only answers were sinus surgery or complete removal (without any guarantee for the shape). I put up with it for over 10 years. Gradually the skin got thinner, the silicone started showing and a step formed, and the costal cartilage was also absorbed and became lower. (This is probably less a side effect than something inevitable with time.) The disappointing part is that my nose didn’t need nostril lowering to begin with, but after being persuaded into the surgery, the scar tissue made it uncomfortable because I was worried people would look at my nostrils... In the end I had everything removed at another hospital Even after removal, the scar from the nostril-lowering procedure will never disappear... I wish they had explained all of this clearly before the surgery.
