This was the first place I went for a consultation after deciding on nose revision surgery. About 12 years ago I had my first nose surgery, and about 5 years ago, after a mild contracture, the tip of my nose lifted and became shorter, so I had revision surgery at another hospital. Then starting about 2 years ago, when I looked in the mirror or when other people took photos of me, the tip of my nose started looking lifted again. It seems the donated rib cartilage from the revision 5 years ago was absorbed. They took a CT and said I had a deviated septum and that the existing silicone was slightly shifted, and they recommended autologous costal cartilage to lower the tip, improve the pinched nose, reduce the nostrils, and remove internal scar tissue. I was told that the deviated septum and rhinitis could be covered by insurance. I had the consultation in the order: manager - doctor - manager, and during the doctor’s consultation they showed me through Photoshop what it would look like with the tip lowered. They said that if there were any problems, there would be no limits, and even if there were no problems, there would be 3 years of aftercare. Although it was autologous rib cartilage, it could be done under sleep anesthesia, and if I moved a lot, they explained that general anesthesia would be used. A board-certified anesthesiologist was on site. It was my first hospital, so I hesitated, but the manager gave me a lot of confidence and the doctor also said it wouldn’t be easy, but not extremely difficult either, so they gave me enough confidence that I booked on the same day. In the end, I got the deposit refunded and booked at another hospital. The review photos felt a little flashy, and I worried that reducing the nostrils might make the nose tip improvement look too small or pinched. If my mind hadn’t changed after consulting the other hospital, I think I would have gone ahead with surgery here. When I got the deposit refunded, they didn’t seem upset and refunded it smoothly right away, and told me to contact them again if I had any questions.
