I went to get Mongolian fold revision surgery because, in year 2 after having double eyelid surgery, eye correction, epicanthoplasty, and under-eye fat repositioning at another clinic, the Mongolian fold started bothering me. The double eyelid line also came down a lot, so I had the double eyelids redone too. The photos are in order: before surgery - next day - immediately after stitch removal at 1 week - 3 weeks - 6 months post-op. When I had my first surgery at another clinic, I just thought they'd take care of it well on their own, but after the epicanthoplasty the Mongolian fold got even worse, so I went looking for a hospital that would do a real Mongolian fold release rather than just a simple epicanthoplasty. From the consultation with the manager, I felt that their understanding of eye structure was different, and the director didn't just talk about the surgery I wanted, but analyzed and explained my face and eye structure as a whole, which made me trust them. When I actually looked at the before-and-after results from clinics that do Mongolian fold release, this place also had the best and most consistent outcomes regardless of eye structure. The surgery result is quite satisfying, and it feels like they extracted the maximum possible from my eyes... They had said that because the right inner corner of my eye had not been corrected enough in the previous surgery, the line there might be thicker and look sleepy, and that is exactly how it feels, but I don't think it's enough to warrant another correction, so I just live with it. But around 6 months later, it seems there is still tension on the side that had the Mongolian fold, because a wrinkle under the eye is starting to form like a scar. It doesn't show unless you look closely, so I'm still watching it. Because this was a revision surgery, it was expensive, but if I went again, I think I'd still do it at this clinic.
