I went to the hospital because my double-eyelid surgery went badly and I wanted to fix the line. It was a manager-doctor-manager consultation, and the manager was just ordinarily polite. The doctor was fairly young and, regarding the line revision, sharply pointed out the differences in my eyes and proposed an elegant correction plan. But he pointed out that the inner corners of my eyes were uneven and also recommended inner-corner restoration. I was already wondering whether or not I should get inner-corner restoration, and honest hospitals had mostly been sending people back saying not to do it. Here they recommended inner-corner restoration, which matched my own thinking, but I couldn't really trust it because I couldn't find any actual before-and-after results from this hospital. And finally, when I asked, 'Do my inner eye corners really look bad enough that I need inner-corner restoration?' the doctor answered, after a slight pause, '...Yes.' In that pause, I felt like the doctor was gaslighting me.
