It was the clinic where someone I know had surgery four years ago, but the doctor who did it was no longer there, so I consulted with a different director. The kindness was almost too much? It was a little overwhelming, but he spoke confidently and clearly, and since he did not push for a cut-only approach, I felt good about it and had almost made up my mind. Then, during the consultation with the manager, the tone felt more like criticism than recommendation or advice, which put me in a bad mood, and when she told me the price, the way she said, "If you are going to do it, then do it," felt inappropriate. She was very pretty, but I wish the consultation had been a little warmer.
