Nose Surgery review at Chiyu (치유) · 2022-11-12

I consulted two surgeons for correction of a bulbous nose and low nose bridge. What was the same in both consultations: - Planned to place silicone in the bridge and use septal extension for the tip What differed: - (Chun) Did not recommend alar reduction, answered questions in detail about the surgical method, and clearly explained the limitations based on my nasal shape (something I had not heard at other hospitals) - (Park) Recommended alar reduction and, rather than focusing on questions about the surgical method, advised me to think more about the nose image I wanted Surgeon Chun seemed to have enough experience to proceed with the method I wanted, while Surgeon Park felt more like he was recommending the surgery he was comfortable performing. If the method Surgeon Park recommended matched my taste, it might have worked well, but I had no intention of doing alar reduction at all, so I chose Surgeon Chun, who had more experience. Everything was good except for one thing: there was no anesthesiologist. Even so, during the consultation they said it would be done under sedation, so I thought, ah, so they do use sedation even without a specialist, and because I had previously had a great sleep-and-wake-up experience at another hospital, I went ahead and booked surgery. But on the day of surgery, just before the operation, I was told that if sedation is too deep, there is a risk of death, so they keep it light and if you move too much they wake you up and continue. If I had heard that during the consultation, I would have looked around at other hospitals with anesthesiologists too, but I only heard it when signing the consent form right before surgery. From that moment I was very worried, but I was already waiting for surgery and trusted my past experience of sleeping well at another hospital, so I went in. But I was betrayed by my own body I remember being woken up a few times in the middle, and I could hear voices worrying about me, saying that if I moved I could get badly hurt, but I did not even know whether I was moving... I cannot write the details, but honestly the surgery process was somewhat painful... This is why people check whether an anesthesiologist is present. It is not that the specialist makes the difference, but at other hospitals I slept so deeply. I was in a lot of pain from right after surgery until day 2. From the morning of day 3, when I went to have the packing removed, I felt fine. They said it was because the packing had soaked up nasal discharge and become much softer. It has now been over a month, and in the end they made it beautifully into the shape I wanted, naturally. Even with that hellish surgical process, seeing how well they produced the result makes me think Surgeon Chun is famous for a reason. Still, I wish it were a little higher here, but my friend said then it would not suit me, so it worked out well. After surgery, regretting that the height is not enough seems to be the standard... But I learned that being too greedy here would be dangerous, so I am satisfied. It has only been one month, so how much it will sag from here is still unknown, so I think I need to watch the final satisfaction a bit longer. I cannot really recommend the sedation part, but if you want to become naturally prettier little by little without changing your image too much, I recommend Surgeon Chun at this clinic. It is so natural that I do not think there is any need to worry it will look exactly the same as before. The before-and-after difference is clear.
