The counseling director really did a great job with the consultation, so I trusted them and decided on the surgery, but it seems they’re not at that hospital anymore now. I saw an interview with them on YouTube and remember how well they discussed the parts I wanted. I also asked the doctor about non-incisional double eyelid correction, and they said I could just do a buried-suture method and gave a good consultation as well. The back canthoplasty didn’t give me a more open eye shape, just a slight improvement. Because of my orbital bone structure, I wasn’t the type who could get a really open result from back canthoplasty.... But I didn’t go in with huge expectations in the first place, so I’m just living with it feeling fairly satisfied. From the start, the goal wasn’t a dramatic change, and the buried suture hasn’t come loose, so I’ve been doing fine. It’s already been over 5 years, I think, and anyway the back canthoplasty is a little disappointing, but it healed well without scars, and the surgery was done under local anesthesia. The atmosphere in the operating room was really good, and they were so focused and serious that I felt reassured even while having the surgery.
