While I was looking into lateral canthoplasty because I was interested in it, I heard he was the top specialist in reconstruction, so I made the first reservation and went at the scheduled time! I’d heard the director was blunt, but not at all.. He was just incredibly busy, so the only thing he had was the kind of everyday furrowed-brow expression?? that comes with constant work, but he was extremely delicate and thorough. It was just a consultation, and there wasn’t even a consultation fee, but when I said I wanted lateral canthoplasty, he asked what my goal was. When I said I wanted my eyes to become wider toward the outer corners, he said, hmm... because the outer corners of my eyes are already fairly rounded, it wouldn’t have much effect. If lowered, the lowered part might be visible, but if that was my goal, he didn’t recommend it. And he personally took photos of my eyes very carefully!*** He said the eye photos I brought and my actual eyes weren’t that different, and that if you shot from a different angle it would just look that way. He told me not to be fooled by things like that and not to believe it if other places said they could open it wider. He said not to get tricked into having it done and then come back with your eyes messed up. He said it would have an effect, but not a big one, so I should think carefully. Honestly, I think he took about 20 photos of my eyes from every angle. He’d take photos, take more, show them to me, then bring them into Paint and explain my eye structure, length, and width in really detailed terms. He even drew diagrams. He’d zoom in on my eyes and show me everything, explaining where this line would drop, how much empty space there was, and so on.. And rather, if I wanted my eyes to look bigger, he recommended trying ptosis correction to lengthen them vertically. He’s the number one in consultation thoroughness to the point that I couldn’t come up with any more questions. When I said thank you, he said, “What are you thanking me for?” and thoroughly explained everything so I’d understand my own eyes... It was the first time I’d seen a director who had just come out of surgery himself taking photos of a patient and drawing diagrams for them. I guess I need to save up and get ptosis correction..... Even when the consultation ended and I was leaving, he was so kind when saying goodbye! At first there was a place that said I could definitely get my eyes widened and that everything I wanted would be possible, but just in case I cancelled the reservation I had put on hold without even looking back. Dr. Cha and one doctor at another hospital gave exactly the same consultation content. I couldn’t leave a deposit for the lateral canthoplasty because the recommendation was lukewarm, but I’m planning to go for ptosis correction for real later..
