Review 1 Year After Nose Implant Removal

It’s already been 1 year and 4 more months since I had it removed. I’ll write this for everyone who is thinking about removal! First, my natural nose had a high bridge, but it was a hump nose with a drooping columella. People around me envied me because my nose was high, but I sometimes heard that it looked like a witch’s nose, and it was also a complex for me, so after thinking about it, I had surgery. In my first surgery, I had septal extension + hump correction. Cartilage had been placed over the step-off from the hump, and because it wasn’t shaved down enough, I had revision surgery. By the second year, it looked too high + cartilage was showing through + psychological pressure, so I had it removed. I won’t reveal the hospital where I had surgery. But if you search, I think you’ll probably figure out where it is. First of all, since I didn’t have a thorough consultation for my first surgery, I chose a place that gives detailed consultations for removal. They said it would be good to print and bring photos of my natural nose and what I wanted, so I did that. As for the surgical method, because my natural nasal tip was on the droopy side, I had cartilage repositioning and cartilage suturing done (non-absorbable thread). Right after removal, it was comfortable because there was nothing in my nose. As time passes, it becomes much softer than before! Because I had cartilage suturing, I don’t think I can make a pig nose, and the columella is soft. As for the shape, the nasal tip is less droopy than my natural nose, and the columella became a bit shorter. I think it’s because of angle adjustment during cartilage repositioning + cartilage suturing. They said they could shave the hump more, but at the time I said I didn’t want to because I was struggling emotionally, and I’m regretting it a little now haha... Still, because some contour irregularity remains, it also seems natural. Everyone who is thinking about removal, make sure to get consultations and decide! Oh, and I think the cartilage show-through got better after removal. During consultations, one hospital said that even if I removed it, the show-through would stay the same, but now it’s almost nonexistent. This differs from person to person, so please just use it as a reference!
