I had nose surgery before, but about a month or two after the surgery, I got into a car accident, fractured my nasal bone, and my nose became a bit crooked... At the time, since it hadn’t been long since the surgery, I was told revision surgery would be difficult, so I just kept living with it in that vague, not-quite-right state. It kept bothering me more than I expected Then last year, I hit my nose hard again, so I went to an ENT clinic and had a CT scan, and they confirmed there that the silicone implant was broken... After hearing that, I was kind of flustered, and I felt like I shouldn’t just leave it alone, so I eventually decided on revision surgery! This time, I wanted to go without an implant, so that’s how we proceeded. They removed the existing silicone and capsule, and the surgery was done in a way that generally refined the overall line. They didn’t use separate cartilage and reused what was already there! Since it was a revision surgery, honestly I was pretty nervous, but in the end I’m recovering without any major issues, so I’m really relieved about that! At first, there was swelling and a stuffy feeling, and the inside of my nose felt blocked, so breathing was a bit uncomfortable. But after about a week, a lot of the major swelling went down, and going out lightly wasn’t too much of a strain! After that, the swelling slowly kept going down, and the line felt like it was gradually becoming more defined. Especially seeing that the previous crookedness had improved a lot was something I could definitely feel. Right now, the major swelling is almost gone, and it feels like only slight residual swelling remains. The nasal tip is still a little firm, but I think that will soften more with time, so I’m just leaving it for now!! Maybe because it’s implant-free, having almost no foreign-body sensation is definitely comfortable. Before, I kept being conscious of my nose, but now, unless I specifically think about it, I barely notice it, so I’m just living comfortably~ It hasn’t completely settled yet, so I’m still monitoring the progress, but so far I’m recovering well without any particular problems, so overall I’m satisfied. If your nose ended up in an awkward condition because of an accident like mine, or if you have a silicone issue, I recommend not putting it off too much and getting it checked at least once... Since I also kept postponing it and eventually ended up doing it, I think I feel that even more!
