Even though my eyes were small, I saw reviews saying that canthoplasty makes the eyes bigger, so without looking into it much, I got medial and lateral canthoplasty. I thought my epicanthal folds would disappear and my eyes would get bigger. There was no difference in eye size, and the medial canthoplasty just failed, so I was insanely stressed. The shape was not pretty, the epicanthal folds did not disappear, and the lacrimal caruncle was still visible. I was only stressed because of my eyes, so I just decided to have surgery and got axis rotation and lateral/lower canthoplasty at a clinic.
I went alone, so I wondered if they would pressure me about the deposit or overcharge me, but the surgery discussion was definitely the main focus. When I talked about my concerns with the front shape and said I wanted my eyes to look bigger, they said the front could be restored and an upper canthoplasty could be done while rotating the axis to change the eye shape. For eye size, double eyelid surgery + lateral/lower canthoplasty also came up, but when I said double eyelid surgery would be financially burdensome, they said I did not have to do it, so I went ahead. There was no hard-selling or bundling, and they only talked about what fit my situation.
I liked the consultation, so because of recovery, I wanted to have surgery that same day, but I had to do it 2 weeks later, which was a shame...
The surgery day was at the end of September, and maybe because it was right before the Chuseok holiday, there were just a ton of people. It has been about half a year now, and my eyes have become so, so, so, so pretty. I really only think that I was right to do it at that clinic.
Honestly, until the end of the year, I was so swollen that I wondered if it had failed, but looking at it now, it is just crazy. The thing I was most worried about, the epicanthal folds, completely disappeared, so I like that the most.
Every time I went in for follow-up, they told me it was healing well.
