Nose Re-Surgery

I decided to do it at a clinic (anyone tried auricular perichondrium?)

A while ago, I posted that I was deciding between ㄱㅇㅅ and ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ! I think it would be good to refer to my previous post for the details :) At the end of January, I realized my nasal tip cartilage was showing through, and for nearly a month and a half I had so many bad thoughts, and whenever I opened my eyes I would always go in and out of this community. Still, time passed, and I ended up deciding on a clinic!

For well-known places for revision rhinoplasty, including the hospital where I had surgery, I went to ㅂㄹㅇ and ㅈㅇㅌ, and for removal I had consultations at ㅍㄹㅁ, ㅅㅅㅇ, ㅅㅇ, ㄱㅇㅅ, and ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ.

I even went for repeat consultations, and although reviews of each clinic matter too, this is my 4th surgery, and after giving birth I even developed a muscle-related chronic condition, so I focused on the idea that there will be no more surgeries!!! and thought it over again.

The person who ruined my nose like this was Director ㅇㅎㅌ at ㅂㄴㅂㄱ Plastic Surgery, who graduated from Seoul National University, so because of that doctor I wondered, should I avoid SNU graduates? But in the end, I decided to trust Dr. ㅅㅇ and go for surgery on 4/8.

First of all, at the first consultation at ㅅㅇ, I didn’t manage to ask questions properly. I think I got intimidated because the director was chic and blunt.

Maybe because the consultant also had an androgynous-sounding voice, it felt like they were describing the situation too seriously, so I dismissed it thinking, no way I’m that bad... But then, out of nowhere, I made up my mind to let go of my desire for the shape a bit and just remove it. Since I went for a repeat consultation then, I got to hear once again why they recommended removal only, without any additional manipulation, and it made sense.

My original nose was not bad in either height or shape. So during my 3 surgeries, the silicone was 1-2 mm, and at ㅍㄹㅁ I confirmed by ultrasound that the bone condition around the silicone was okay. (Make sure to ask when you go for a consultation!)

That part is a relief, but since the last surgery, my columella has been seriously deviated, and because of the cartilage showing through, ㅅㅇ said we should keep thinking together until surgery about covering it with auricular perichondrium. (They said the degree of show-through is ambiguous, so it’s not a nose they would recommend it for that strongly.)

There’s still a lot of time left until surgery, but I’m leaving this post because I want to help if there’s anything I learned while getting consultations or anything that could be useful!

Oh, by any chance, is there anyone who has had their nasal tip covered with auricular perichondrium? Dr. ㅅㅇ says the absorption rate is low and it’s okay, but I don’t think I’ve seen many reviews..!
