I had nose surgery 11 years ago, and I’d heard that they only used ear cartilage and silicone back then. But after the surgery, I was told it had been L-shaped silicone and that they had removed the ear cartilage. I had some contracture, and around the year before last, I also had inflammation in my nose once. They said there was calcification of the silicone near the glabella, so it was adhered and gave them a bit of trouble. They said it wasn’t an easy surgery. Anyway, they removed all the capsule too and even did nasal repositioning, so I’m recovering now. My nose hurts a lot and it feels like someone put chili powder in it, but I want to recover quickly. They say they wake you up after sedation here, but I’m a total scaredy-cat, so I told them before surgery. After sedation, I woke up during the surgery and said it hurt, so they put me back under sedation. And I woke up near the very end, but I didn’t feel anything and it didn’t hurt either. It was manageable. Everyone, don’t be too scared, and if you’re going to remove it, do it quickly. If you keep putting it off, it could become a harder surgery. Before surgery, I kept researching and got mentally overwhelmed too... For now, I feel relieved. I might get mentally overwhelmed again during recovery, but I’m going to try to think only positive thoughts. I hope everything goes well for everyone so we can all leave this community.
