Nose Re-Surgery

Finally getting my stitches out tomorrow.. Nasal tip removal review

.In 2013, when I was getting surgery for rhinitis, I was tempted by the claim that if I only did the nasal tip with autologous cartilage, I’d have no side effects for life, so I had my hump shaved and had surgery on the tip with ear cartilage + septal cartilage. (When they opened it up for removal, there was no septal cartilage, only Medpor + ear cartilage.) Right after the surgery, it was extremely hard and felt like a foreign body, but I lived thinking that was just how nose surgery was. Over time, the cartilage in my nasal tip started showing through more and more, my skin got thinner, and the shape of the cartilage became prominent, which stressed me out. I had wanted to remove it since 2018, but during my first surgery, having nasal packing in for that one day caused me to panic, and it was the worst pain of my life, so I couldn’t bring myself to do it and just lived with it until now. As time passed, the cartilage became even more obvious, so even with makeup on, my nasal tip looked unnaturally white.. On top of that, my columella scar was bad too, so I absolutely never showed people my face with my head tilted up Then while browsing this community, I found out about a clinic that doesn’t use nasal packing, went for a consultation, and after consulting only at that one place, I decided on surgery right away and had it done last Friday. I just felt like it would be okay if I did it there… I had brief sedation, woke up, and had the surgery. I was worried it would be scary, but it was more comfortable than I expected… There was Medpor in my nose that I hadn’t even known about, and it was huge. The foreign material was what kept making my skin thinner, ha.. That clinic where I had my first surgery apparently has a lot of problems with people other than me tooㅡㅡ They said if they removed absolutely everything, it might look bumpy, so they left only a small amount for smoothing purposes. Right after surgery, before taping, they showed me a mirror, and my pointy nose had become naturally slightly rounded at the tip, like my original nose. I’ve seen that right after surgery is when there’s the least swelling, and I really liked it… I hope it stays like that. When I went for the consultation, they said my original nose wasn’t a low nose, so they asked why I had surgery in the first place If anything, after shaving the hump, I feel like my bridge became much lower than the operated nose. I regret it as the result of being greedy. Thankfully, I had a little skin left, so they also removed the columella scar, and my nasal tip had looked somehow unnaturally pointy, but that’s gone now, so I’m satisfied… And since there’s no nasal packing, I’m so grateful that I can wear a mask, work, and go about daily life normally. There’s no bruising or major swelling either, so with a mask on, no one can tell. I went through so much emotional stress all this time, but I feel so relieved. The clinic’s consultant seems to be hit or miss for some people, but I liked her because she took good care of me. She felt very warm-hearted. On the day of surgery, my boyfriend and I came from far away early in the morning, so neither of us had eaten anything, and while I was in surgery, they kept bringing my boyfriend food They gave him pumpkin porridge, soy milk, and even boiled eggs, and gave him vitamins too. I’m so thankful.. I want to get my stitches out soon and see how the columella scar looks. (Photo deleted. I’ll upload the photos again a little while after getting the stitches out.)
