Is there anyone who had surgery for a deviated septum by reinforcing it with autologous costal cartilage? The purpose of the surgery is to improve the appearance of my crooked nose after rhinoplasty and improve blockage in my left nostril! (When I lie on my left side, it gets blocked often, though not always.) I went for a consultation at a plastic surgery clinic, and they said my septum has become very thin, so if both sides are reinforced with firm autologous costal cartilage, it may not be completely corrected, but the crooked nose could still improve compared with now. But at another clinic, they said that if autologous costal cartilage is added to the septum, the nasal obstruction will get worse, so I’m debating because they told me not to use autologous costal cartilage unnecessarily and to just have cosmetic nose surgery. They said that originally, when people lie on their left side, the left nostril gets blocked… (But before I had nose surgery, it didn’t get blocked…)
