I had severe freckles since I was young, so I was really stressed. They wouldn’t even get covered with concealer when I did my base makeup. They weren’t spread all over my face, but were dark from both cheekbones to about the middle of my cheeks? That’s where they appeared.
During the consultation, they didn’t say for sure whether they were solar lentigines or freckles, and they explained a lot of possible side effects, like that they could get darker or might not disappear. It seemed like these were just formal disclosures, so I just went ahead with it.
The whole process felt a bit like an assembly-line clinic. The laser itself hurt a lot. I’m usually pretty good at tolerating pain, but I think I kept getting startled. Still, they complimented me for enduring it well lol
I had it done in the middle of summer, so it was really hard because my face felt hot. Even with an ice pack on it, it felt like my face was burning, which was tough. If you’re going to do this, I really think it’s a procedure that should be done in winter.
For about a month? the treated spots turned into dark marks like scabs, so while that was happening, it was a bit hard to go to work as an office worker too
I had it done in early 2024, and after all the scabs fell off, honestly, it didn’t completely disappear; it felt more like they became much lighter? Since then, whenever I went out, I applied sunscreen almost obsessively to prevent recurrence. But from mid-2025, spots that seem like melasma or freckles started appearing again on the aegyo-sal area right under my eyes. Now I’m looking into toning lasers.
