It’s already been quite a while since I wrote my week-1 review,,! It’s now been 3 weeks since surgery, and honestly, from about day 10, it felt like recovery was almost completely finished!
1. Bruising First, about the bruising that people are probably most curious about: by around 10 days after surgery, even the yellow bruising had completely disappeared! Even when I went out bare-faced, people around me had no idea I’d had surgery,, haha
2. Swelling In week 2, (honestly, I didn’t feel like I had swelling myself) someone I work with said my eyes looked swollen..! It wasn’t the kind of puffy swelling you get after crying a lot, more like the amount of swelling you’d have the day after eating ramen and sleeping! But after 3 weeks passed, the swelling above and below my eyes went down completely, and that,,, double eyelid that had appeared disappeared along with it lol. Too bad,, Anyway, now it really feels like my eyes have completely gone back to my original eyes!!
3. Eye discomfort / how recovery feels Up until week 2, every morning I had a feeling that the conjunctiva on my right side was sticking + a scratchy foreign-body sensation inside the eye (like an eyelash had gotten in), but now in week 3, all of that has disappeared! My eyes open naturally in the morning, and there’s no foreign-body sensation at all~ In terms of recovery, I think it’s fair to say it’s completely over at this point!
4. Appearance changes (the most important part!) This surgery does not make dark circles disappear (they explained this before surgery too). My dark circles themselves are still there. But the difference is, before surgery, the under-eye area was bulging and uneven, so the aegyo-sal looked like two folds or two layers, which made me look even more tired and hollow,,, Now, the area under the aegyo-sal is smoother, so even with dark circles, I definitely look less tired! The shadows don’t show up well on camera, but in person, the area that used to bulge has become flat, so it looks much cleaner and more refined. I realized that even with the same dark circles, the overall impression can change this much,,! The bruising faded quickly and the recovery was clean, and it made me think again about how Director Moon Jung-hwan carefully controlled every tiny bleed during surgery,, Now everything has settled so naturally that I almost can’t tell whether these are surgically treated eyes or my original eyes! Next time, after more time has passed and everything is fully stabilized, I’ll leave another review,, haha
