Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

One-month review after facial contouring surgery

I had a complex about my face shape for a long time, and among those concerns, my square jaw was the biggest issue. I was scared of facial contouring, so I considered solving it with procedures, but since it was bone, I felt there was no answer other than surgery, so after thinking about it for a long time, I decided to do it! I looked for a hospital with safety as my top priority, and since my temporomandibular joint isn’t good and I thought bone surgery would be more specialized in oral and maxillofacial surgery than plastic surgery, I started consultations with oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics. Among them, before I even explained my concerns first, they noticed them and explained things in detail, so I trusted them and decided to do it at ㅇYoonㄷ Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery:) My biggest concern was my square jaw from the front and side, so I only had square jaw surgery and cortical osteotomy. Recovery was hard until day two, and after that it was so manageable that I thought it was easier than expected. Maybe it’s because I only did the square jaw, but still, it’s surgery that shaves bone, so I thought this level was bearable! Especially because I had slight cold symptoms, I think that may be why those two days were harder. The pain was occasionally just a tightening feeling in the teeth around the intraoral incision area, and I had no other pain at all. If I had pain or questions and messaged the hospital on KakaoTalk, they replied quickly, which was really nice! Looking back, personally, I think the hardest part was that my nose was blocked, so sleeping and breathing were uncomfortable. I ate thin rice porridge for several days, but at that time I didn’t have an appetite anyway so it didn’t matter, and after a few days my appetite came back and chewing gradually became more comfortable. As the hospital told me, I diligently disinfected inside my mouth after meals, and I also diligently used the facial compression band and cold packs:) As for changes in appearance, the residual swelling is still going down so it’s not definite yet, but personally I’m feeling it little by little. In particular, I can clearly see that the square jaw from the side is gone! I think the front will definitely look even better once all the swelling goes down. It was a surgery I was extremely nervous and scared about, but I’m satisfied because the progress seems good. I liked it even more because aftercare, surgery, and everything overall were clean and thorough. I’m even more excited to see how it will look after 3 months and 6 months. (Left is before, right is after)
