Before surgery, I was unhappy with the protruding brow area and mouth, my low and pressed-looking nasal tip, which gave me an unfavorable impression and a face without dimension, as well as my indistinct eyes and even the way I used my forehead to open my eyes to make them look bigger. So I decided to undergo male ptosis correction and rhinoplasty to achieve larger, clearer eyes and to improve my nose shape in order to balance out my protruding brow area and mouth.
When I first looked for a hospital to have surgery at, I learned that directors at hospitals specializing in revision surgery tend to have relatively excellent surgical skills. While referring to various plastic surgery review sites and looking for a revision-specialized hospital, I saw before-and-after review photos from this plastic surgery clinic. After that, I checked reviews on several plastic surgery apps and looked closely into the surgical results, and among the consultation reviews and surgery reviews, there were only good comments. I also watched every video from the clinic from beginning to end, one by one, and my trust in Director Kim Hyun-joo grew, so I made a consultation appointment.
To be honest, whether it is a first cosmetic surgery or a revision surgery, I had heard so many times that you should consult several hospitals before deciding. But I think I was so set on having surgery at this clinic that I even traveled from the provinces up to Seoul. During the consultation, the director said that because my eyes were deep-set, a higher double-eyelid line would probably look good, and that if I had ptosis correction, I would no longer open my eyes using my forehead.
For my nose, she said that because my forehead protrudes, rhinoplasty would likely turn out well. She also explained that she performs rhinoplasty as if building a sturdy structure. Her precise diagnosis was that it would be good to use autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip, silicone for the nasal bridge, and to correct the bulbous nose and nasolabial angle as well, which made me trust her. I had written down a huge number of questions in my notes and asked so many of them, but the director kept kindly asking whether there was anything else I was curious about, and I liked that so, so, so much.
Oh, and all the clinic staff, including Manager Ahn, were also very kind. When I went for the surgery consultation, I could feel their warmth, and the heavy feelings I had before the consultation felt lighter afterward.
For a week after surgery, there was some swelling, but I managed it as the director and manager instructed, so I don’t think I had any really major swelling. The parts I disliked were improved, and I have been living very satisfied because I was able to get the glamorous yet natural look I wanted. My family, acquaintances, friends, and colleagues all said the surgery went so well and that I had become a different person, to the point that I heard more than 10,000 times a day how well it turned out.
Lastly, I was very happy with the director’s surgical skill and consultation, the staff’s kindness, the aftercare, the clinic atmosphere, and even their sense of responsibility in taking care of the patient until the end. If someone asked me, “If you could go back to your face before surgery?” I think I would choose this clinic 100 times out of 100.
