When I didn’t know any better, after taking the college entrance exam, I got my first nose surgery in my hometown/province, you know? I saw the doctor for the first time on the day of surgery lol... I was crazy. Back then I just didn’t know anything, so maybe I had no fear either.
I had a slight hump on the nasal bridge shaved down + 3.5 mm silicone + ear cartilage for the nasal tip + cartilage tying.
Maybe because my nose was really low, they put in thick silicone too (when I got a CT, the end wasn’t exactly L-shaped, but it was rounded), and the ear cartilage was just roughly placed in.
Anyway, the reasons I decided on revision surgery are: 1. My nasal tip drooped > as time passed, the nasal tip cartilage gradually drooped, and a slight step-off developed between the silicone and the nasal tip, like this ㅡ. Because the tip drooped, my nose looks long and kind of like Squidward... People close to me notice and ask about it.
2. The silicone is slightly deviated to the left, so the cartilage shows through at the left nasal tip.
Because of these two issues, I’m trying to get revision surgery, but my skin and soft tissue are firm and don’t stretch well, and my nose is low and really small. The clinic says to remove everything, then either not put silicone in, or place a lower silicone implant, use donated costal cartilage for the nasal tip support strut, and shape it with ear cartilage.
I paid the surgery deposit and even set the surgery date, but maybe because I only went around to about three clinics for consultations,
when I saw posts in a community saying that using donated costal cartilage to build a support strut itself can be hard to reverse if side effects happen later, and that it can droop more, I started thinking maybe I should have just done cartilage repositioning, and I’m scared and nervous..
This is my first post, so it’s all over the place, but is just getting the surgery the answer? Or should I give up the 600,000 won deposit and look around at more clinics? My feelings are complicated. I’m naturally the type who worries a lot, and I keep wondering why I even got nose surgery..
